The boyfriend of an Israeli woman who remains missing after attending a music festival attacked by bloodthirsty Hamas terrorists says she is living in agony after making a last-minute decision to skip the celebration.
“I feel like I have to go and be there with him. Maybe I can do something different,” Ohad Malul told The Post by phone, his voice hoarse. “It kills me inside that I’m not with him.”
His girlfriend of two years, Shani Kupervaser, has not been seen or heard from since she fled a Tribe of Nova event in the Negev Desert with friends and was attacked by Hamas fighters with grenades and gunfire.
“We don’t know if he is alive, dead or missing. We don’t know if he was kidnapped because no one told us,” said Malul.
Palestinian terrorists paraglided across the border from Gaza and stormed the event Saturday, killing at least 260 attendees and kidnapping dozens more.

Kupervaser – a 27-year-old economics student who has a job lined up after graduation – went to the Nova festival with six friends, but Malul said he decided not to go because he was tired after just returning from a trip to Paris.
“He said, ‘I’ll be back, I won’t be gone long … Everything will be fine,'” she said.
But that soon changed when Malul, also 27, received a message from his girlfriend saying she saw a rocket overhead.

Kupervaser fled immediately with his three friends in a car, headed for his home in Be’er Sheva, but they came under fire and left the vehicle to enter a roadside bomb shelter where people ordered those fleeing to take cover.
It turned out to be a trap.
“They took 30 people inside and the terrorists started throwing grenades inside,” Malul said, recounting his conversations with friends who managed to get out alive.
Video footage shows attendees at the Tribe of Nova music festival running from a terrorist attack during a Hamas incursion on Oct. 7. 2023, in southern Israel.
A man inside the shelter bravely began to grab a grenade and throw it back at the Hamas terrorists, and one of Kupervaser’s friends did the same.
“After five or six grenades, the terrorists got angry and got an RPG rocket and shot through the door,” Malul said.
They then went into the shelter and “shot everywhere.”
Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a photo that reportedly shows the bodies of people at the Tribe of Nova music festival who were killed during a Hamas incursion on October 7, 2023, in southern Israel.
Kupervaser became separated from his friends at that point as thick black smoke filled the shelter, according to his friends’ accounts.
“It’s something you can’t imagine, they threw grenades in a small room just to kill everyone,” Malul said.
“The other survivors could barely speak. They are devastated,” he said, adding that another of his friends who fled with him is missing.

Malul said his girlfriend, whom he met at the university, was not on any of the death lists shared by Israeli authorities and was not found in any hospital.
She felt her only option was to hope she had been kidnapped if that meant she was still alive.
“I just hope he’s still alive, that’s all. Only hope,” Malul told The Post from Israel. “If they take it away from me, my heart will be completely broken.”

He said Kupervaser’s 28th birthday was just a few days away and he would be starting a job at a highly competitive company.
“He is the wisest, [most] the most beautiful, kind person I’ve ever met. Everyone who met him fell in love with him,” said Malul. “He is one of the best in economics. He got two degrees in four years.”
He told The Post that they just bought new furniture together and that he plans to propose soon.
“I just hope he comes home. I just want to hold her and tell her that I love her so much. He is the love of my life. He is the love of my life … I don’t care what happens, I just want him to be there,” she said, her voice shaking.
