Brent Renaud Killed In Ukraine
Container New York Times contributor Brent Renaud was shot and killed in Ukraine by the Russian Army. The award-winning journalist was 50 years old at the time of his death. PEOPLE reported Russian soldiers shot him and two others in Irpin, according to Kyiv Independent.
The Guardian reported that he was reportedly hit in the neck and died after being attacked by Russians while at work on Sunday, according to local police officials, however, this could not be independently confirmed. A US photographer Juan Arredondo was injured along with him.
His brother Craig Renaud has confirmed the news of this death. Craig was not with her at the time of her death. Meanwhile, Anton Gerashchenko, adviser to Ukraine’s interior minister, confirmed Renaud’s death in a statement to Time. Anton said Brent “paid with his life for trying to expose the cunning, brutality, and brutality of the invaders.”
