In the latest revelation from her smash memoir, “The Woman In Me,” a source told Us Weekly that Britney talked about her “comeback” performance at the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards in her book. She bumped into Justin Timberlake shortly before going on stage, years after the two ended their three-year relationship in 2002.
Britney talked about how she ran into him backstage at The Palms in Las Vegas and noted that it had been “a long time” since the two had seen each other. Although the “Toxic” singer struggled with her career and public image in the months before her 13-year conservatorship officially began, Britney stated in her book that the “Cry Me A River” singer was “at the top of her game in every way.” In 2006, she released the album FutureSex/LoveSounds, which included his hit single “SexyBack.”

He went on to say that he never saw Britney perform that night, as she was backstage. “Didn’t know he didn’t kill. Unfortunate. Art changes [years] as we know more & the world changes.” Although she didn’t directly apologize for her comments, she said, “I wish I could delete it but I can’t.”
Justin has not responded to the allegations in Britney’s book, but a source told the outlet that he hopes to move on from the drama. “Justin will always support Britney and all her endeavors, but he’s trying to distance himself from her upcoming book,” the source explained. “It’s not something he’s focused too much on in terms of anything he might talk about about their former relationship.”

He began, “The purpose of my book is not to offend anyone in any way !!! That was me then … that was the past !!! I don’t like the headlines I read …that’s why I quit the business 4 years ago !!! Most of the books are from 20 years ago… I’ve moved and it’s a pretty clean slate from here!!! 1 am here to set it like that for the rest of my life!!!”
He continued, “Anyway, that was the last one and s— happened !! This is actually a book that didn’t know to write … although some may be offended, it has given me closure on all things for a better future !!! Hopefully I can enlighten people who feel alone in most cases or hurt or misunderstood !!! Again, my motive for this book is not to quote my past experiences that the press did and it was stupid and stupid !!! I have since moved on!! #TheWomaninMe.”
