Emma Willis has pleaded with the paparazzi not to contact her husband, Bruce Willis, when they see her out with family or friends. He shared a video on Instagram to make the request, explaining that they had to do so because of his health condition.
The request came after the family revealed late last month that the actor’s aphasia, which he was diagnosed with last year, had progressed to frontotemporal dementia.

Bruce’s wife, Emma, has pleaded with the paparazzi to keep their distance whenever they see the 67-year-old actor making a public appearance.
She took to Instagram to make an appeal about her dementia diagnosis and recounted an incident where a photographer spotted Bruce while he was out with friends in Santa Monica.
“This one is going out to photographers and video people who are trying to release exclusive photos of my husband. Just save your space,” said Emma as she filmed herself in her kitchen.
“I know it’s your job, but maybe keep your space,” he added. “Please don’t shout at my husband, ask how he is, anything. The woo-hooing and the yippee-ki-yay’s — just don’t do it. Give him space. Allow us as a family or whoever is with him that day to be able to get him from Point A to Point B safely. That’s my PSA.”

In the video, Emma previously shared that it’s not easy caring for someone with dementia and complained about the lack of awareness of the disease in society today.
“If you’re a carer for someone with dementia, you know how difficult and stressful it can be to get someone out into the world and navigate them safely, even just to get a cup of coffee,” she said. “It is clear that there is still much education to be valued.”

In March 2022, Bruce’s family disclosed the actor’s diagnosis of aphasia, a language disorder caused by brain degeneration that affects communication. The announcement also revealed that Bruce will be retiring from acting.
“This is a very challenging time for our family, and we greatly appreciate your continued love, compassion and support,” the statement read in part.. “We’re moving through this as a strong family unit and want to bring his fans in because we know how much he means to you, as you do to him. As Bruce always says, ‘Turn it on,’ and together, we plan to do just that.”
Earlier that month, the family provided an update on the actor’s condition, sharing that his aphasia had progressed to frontotemporal dementia.
