Later today, “Star Wars” actress Carrie Fisher will finally get her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Although the dedication was long overdue, his brother, Todd Fisher, recently spoke about the ceremony, and claimed that he was not invited. He’s not the only one, it seems. A day later, her sisters – Joely Fisher and Tricia Leigh Fisher – issued a joint statement claiming they were also not invited.
Although Todd previously said that he was told that Disney controlled the guest list and that there were only thirty seats up for grabs, the sisters blamed their niece – Carrie’s daughter, actress Billie Lourd, who will receive the dedication on her mother’s behalf.

On Wednesday, the two brothers released a joint statement on Instagram along with several photos of the two sisters posing with Carrie. They began their lengthy statement, writing, “In response to all of you asking if we’ll be joining the festival or not….”
“It is strange that we will not be present to celebrate our sister, whom we adore. For some strange and perverted reason, our niece chose not to include us in this epic moment in our sister’s career,” they wrote. “This is something that Carrie would have wanted her siblings to be present for. The fact that her only brother and two sisters were intentionally and deliberately excluded was shocking.”

“We’ve all been grieving the loss of our loved one for several years now…we’ve given Billie the space to do it her way,” they continued. “We are nothing but loving and open, consistently. This isn’t about a photo op on Hollywood Blvd…it’s about celebrating the immortality of Carrie’s legacy in the industry, taking her place with the stars on the iconic journey of fame with our parents.”
“We are grateful to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce for honoring our little sister in this way. May the Fourth be with you. Joely and Tricia Leigh Fisher,” they concluded including more than a dozen hashtags, including one that read #growingupfisher and another that read #threelittlefishesinanittybittypool.

However, this seems to contradict what Todd Fisher told TMZ yesterday. He claimed that he was informed that Disney was in charge of the guest list and that there were only thirty people invited to the event.
She told the outlet that the insult was “very hurtful and sad because I’ve always been a big part of everything my sister and mother have done historically throughout their lives” and pointed out that they have attended some of their mother’s events together.

Their mother is “Singin’ In The Rain” star Debbie Reynolds and their father is “The Eddie Fisher Show” host Eddie Fisher.
“Frankly, it’s a difficult situation and I don’t deserve to be put in this position,” Todd told the outlet. “As Carrie Fisher’s only brother, being left out of this special day really hurts.”
Carrie Died In 2016 Following An In-Flight Medical Emergency

On December 23, 2016, the author of “Wishful Drinking” was on a flight from London to Los Angeles when he had a medical emergency about fifteen minutes before the plane landed. Paramedics took him to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, but he died in intensive care four days later.
Unfortunately, that wasn’t the only tragedy the family experienced that holiday season. Just one day after Carrie’s death, on December 28, her mother, Debbie Reynolds, suffered a stroke while the family was making funeral arrangements. He was rushed to hospital but died that evening.

Carrie’s cause of death was listed as “cardiac arrest/delayed” by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health shortly after her death. Months later, the coroner’s office admitted they were unable to determine the exact cause of death, but listed “sleep apnea and fatty tissue buildup on the arterial walls as contributing factors” to his death.
The Hollywood Walk Of Fame website announced that iHeart Media personality and Walk of Famer Ellen K will emcee the ceremony. Billie Lourd will receive the star at 6840 Hollywood Boulevard near the El Captain Theater at 11:30 a.m. local time on Thursday, May 4.
For those unable to make the dedication of the 2,754th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the ceremony will be streamed live on walkoffame.com.
