Chance the Rapper and his wife, Kirsten Corley, have decided to end their marriage.
The couple announced the surprise decision in a joint statement shared on Wednesday evening. They tied the knot in 2019 and share two daughters, seven-year-old Kensli and four-year-old Marli.

“After a period of separation, we have both come to the decision to separate. We take this decision well and with gratitude for the time we spent together. God has blessed us with two beautiful daughters that we will continue to rise together .”
The estranged couple, who will celebrate their fifth wedding anniversary on March 9, concluded, “We ask for privacy and respect as we navigate this transition. Thank you.”

The separation announcement appears to be the culmination of infidelity rumors that have dogged the couple’s union for the past year.
Speculation about a potential marriage issue for the singer-songwriter arose as she celebrated her 30th birthday during Carnival 2023 in Jamaica.
He was reportedly caught in a provocative dance session with model Mela Millz, who was wearing a traditional Carnival costume.
As reported by The Blast, a video at the time featured a shirtless Chance playfully slapping Millz on the derrière multiple times while he pinched her.
Amid public concern that Chance’s actions were inappropriate for a married man and father, a rep clarified that he and Corley do not have a problem.
As they said at the time, “Everyone has their moments, but it’s all good.”

She subtly hinted at her displeasure by sharing a cryptic message featuring a quote from Maya Angelou’s essay “Home.”
The quote, which she posted on Instagram, begins, “Most people don’t grow up. It’s too d— hard. What happens is most people get older. That’s the truth.”
It added, “They honor their credit cards, find parking, and have the courage to have children but not grow up. Not really. They’re getting older. And you know what we have to love and lose, to be brave and fail. And maybe more, to succeed.”
Alongside the lengthy message, Corley advised, “I hope we all choose to grow up one day.”

Given Chance and Corley’s impending divorce, it’s worth noting that this isn’t the first time their romance has hit a snag.
As Daily Elite previously detailed, about five months after they welcomed Kensli, Corley filed legal documents aimed at officially establishing Chance as her father and retaining sole custody of the child.
She also allegedly asked for child support, covering expenses incurred during pregnancy and childbirth, along with attorney’s fees.
Although the two later reconciled, they ran into another problem in February 2017 when Corley filed for a parenting schedule, claiming that they were separated. However, by March 2017, she and Chance settled their dispute out of court and reconciled once again.
