In a previous post, marking the “Shameless” actor’s first Instagram update since cleaning up his feed, he shared a carousel detailing who he was before he found Christ and who he is now.
“I’ve been in character for as long as I’ve been in the public eye,” the first slide read. “I have played many roles and worn many masks. Actor. Rappers. Fitness man. The Lambo Man. None of them are the real me.” He added, “I’m an expert at playing dumb because I learned it as a survival mechanism,” before moving on to the second slide, noting that the world needs God more than anything else.
In the third slide, the message continued, “All the pain in my life stems from one thing – the lie of believing that my only purpose is to serve God.”

The next slide shows Chet admitting that he is unsure of the best way to serve God but believes all will be revealed in time. He then concludes with a note to fans who think they don’t fit in, urging them to follow God, who may be calling them to a “Higher Purpose.”
Before deleting her Instagram page, the “Empire” star had posted an inspirational video, drawing fans to draw closer to God and captioning it, “ALL PRAISE TO THE HIGHEST.”
He is recorded in a moving vehicle stating that no relationship, friendship, family member, or career is as satisfying as a “personal relationship” with God.
The actor also urged fans to test his theory by creating a relationship with the “Supreme” and seeing “how strong they become.”
