Chris Pratt is no stranger to criticism for being vocal about his beliefs. In an interview with Page Six, at the Cinema Society screening of the recently released MCU film, “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” Pratt revealed that he has indeed faced criticism about his faith, stating, “I’m sure, but, that’s nothing new, you know?”

The 43-year-old admitted that he faced criticism for his faith but shrugged it off, citing biblical verses to explain his perspective. “If I were of this world, they would love me just like that, but I have chosen from this world as it is. That is John 15:18 to 20,” he explained.

The actor drew a comparison between himself and Jesus Christ, adding, “That’s it, nothing new; 2,000 years ago, they hated it too.”

“Like a rhinoceros, bow your head down, you keep driving forward, you have thick skin, and if anyone stops you, you stick the horn on the trunk!” he added.

When asked if he likes tooting his horn on someone’s back, the “War of Tomorrow” star laughed and credited his past as a door-to-door salesman for his grit and tenacity.

According to Pratt, working as a door-to-door salesman taught him how to deal with rejection and keep moving forward. “Hmm, well, about rejection, I’ve been practicing in the crucible of door-to-door sales about 25 years ago,” he said. “So, you can’t reject me; nothing is stopping us.”

The star of “The Lego Movie” compares this to acting, where you also have to be able to handle rejection and move on. “You have to collect nine ‘no’s’ to get one ‘yes’.”

The “Jurassic World” star met his wife, Katherine Schwarzenegger, in 2018 at church. However, it was only then that Pratt asked Schwarzenegger out on a date. In February, on “The Drew Barrymore Show,” Schwarzenegger shared that he did not invite her to church. “We met each other at church. It was beautiful, but he didn’t try to pick me up at church,” she said Page Six.

Their love story grew quickly, and in 2019, Pratt announced their engagement on social media, writing, “Sweet Katherine, so glad you said yes! I’m excited to marry you. Proud to live boldly in faith with you. Here we go.”

They tied the knot later that year and have since welcomed two children, daughters Lyla, 2, and Eloise, 11 months, while Pratt also has a son named Jack, 10, from his previous marriage to actress Anna Faris.

In a recent interview with THR, Pratt acknowledged the significance of the moment for himself and the franchise saying, “I’m making history in this movie. I dropped the first F bomb, no big deal. I do not know. This is the only time I’ve made history, so I assume that’s what you mean. Yes, it was a moment; it was a special moment.”
