In his recent appearance on the BigBoyTV radio show, Tony revealed that Will’s statement about contacting Chris after the Oscar slap was false.
A video released last July showed the “King Richard” actor claiming that he contacted the comedian days after the incident to try and make up for his actions at the awards ceremony.
“That’s not true, that’s not true,” Tony said of Will’s statement at the time, per Insider. “I think, like, two nights later, he said, ‘I called Chris, and he didn’t want to talk.’ That is not true.”
Tony further said that Will didn’t bother to call him to talk about the incident, which had affected all the members of the Rock family.
He added, “My phone number has never changed. So, I just thought I’d get a phone call one day like, ‘Ay, let you and I just talk.’ It didn’t happen, so I don’t think it will happen.”
The Oscar Slap Incident

A slap heard around the world occurred as Rock presented the award for best documentary feature at the 94th Academy Awards last year.
The comedian cracked several jokes to entertain the audience, including one directed at Will’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, which seemed to refer to the actress’ bald head caused by her alopecia.
The joke didn’t sit well with Will, who then walked on stage and swung at the comedian, making contact with his face.
After the slap, the “Emancipation” star got off the stage and walked back to his seat, then yelled, “Keep my wife’s name out of your damn mouth!”
Unsurprisingly, the argument led to a lot of trouble for Will, including a ten-year ban from attending awards ceremonies.
Chris Rock Says the Slap

It took a year for Will to address the incident, and he did so in style through his Netflix comedy special, “Chris Rock: Selective Outrage.”
During the special, the “Everybody Hates Chris” star said Will was practicing “selective anger,” explaining that the actor’s disrespect was just a way to vent his pent-up anger about his wife’s affair with August Alsina.
Rock also blamed the two of them for discussing their personal matters in public, because he wouldn’t have talked about it if it had been out in the open.
“We have all been deceived. None of us have ever been interviewed by the person we lied to on television. He hurt her more than he hurt me,” Chris said on the special, per Insider.

Following the special’s premiere on Netflix, Will responds to Chris’ comments about him and his family.
follow Entertainment tonight, the actor was “embarrassed and hurt” and surprised that the comedian still held a grudge after this, despite multiple apologies on social media.
Sources say Will wants Rock to “let it go”, given how much time has passed since the incident, and that the actor has also been “working on his own” to deal with the issues that led to his outburst.
Will is also said to be “upset” with Netflix for allowing Chris to use their platform to express his views.
At the time, fans also weighed in on Chris’ critical remarks about Will, with many supporting the comedian for claiming his own weight, while others called him out for still holding a grudge almost a year after the infamous slap incident.
