Tyra Banks recently confirmed that she will be leaving her hosting gig on “Dancing With the Stars” after three seasons.
While fans are hoping to see Tom Bergeron return as host, or “Bachelor” star Gabby Windey take over, the Disney+ reality television show has decided to go in a different direction and bring back past “Dancing With the Stars” pros and judges to replace Tyra Banks — none other than Julianne Hough.

Reports have confirmed that Julianne Hough will return to the ballroom and replace Tyra Banks as co-host. Alfonso Ribeiro will return as a co-host alongside the “Dancing With the Stars” alum, while his brother, Derek Hough, will return to the judges’ table alongside Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli.
“It is an honor to rejoin ‘Dancing with the Stars’ as a co-host. The show has held a special place in my heart over the years and the different roles I’ve been privileged to be a part of,” Hough said. Julianne Hough first appeared on “Dancing With the Stars” as a pro dancer in 2007. The 34-year-old took home the Mirror Ball trophy twice — once in season four with partner Apolo Anton Ohno and in season five with Hélio Castroneves.
He continued, “The energy is magnetic every time you step into the ballroom and I can’t wait to feel it again – and of course to share it all with the best and most loyal fans – for another exciting season.”
Hough has experience beyond being a professional dancer on the show as she was a judge from 2014-2017. He also returns as a guest judge on the show in 2021. He also has experience hosting a television show as for the past few years, he and his brother Derek Hough have hosted the special “Disney’s Wonderful World: Magical Holiday Celebration”.

Another fan was not happy with the choice at all, writing, “NO NO NO! Why are you doing this to us? First you can avoid Tom and replace him with Tyra. Big mistake. I used to say it years ago too. Now we get Julianne? I think the last 3 years of not watching will continue. So long to my old favorite show.”
