Nick Nemeroff’s family confirmed his “sudden passing”. The cause of his death has not yet been revealed. They released an official statement via Nick’s IG account.
The statement read, “It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved brother Nick Nemeroff. Nick’s dedication to standup comedy is formidable, and produces amazing results”.
It continued further, “He won acclaim in Canada and the US, becoming the ‘comic of comics’ and popular with audiences captivated by his unique rhythms, labyrinthine deadpan and fresh take on misdirection-driven comedy.”
Furthermore, the statement ended, “If Nick is on a comedy show, he’s guaranteed to leave with new fans. And he deserves it, because comedy is, in many ways, his life. Endlessly sweet, supportive of others, humble about his many skills and accomplishments, Nick lived his life doing what he loved, and that’s how he will be remembered. RIP Nick. We love you”.
After Nick’s death, his sister Davida posted on her IG, “To know me is to know how much I love my little brother Nick. He is everything to me. A giant and gentle comedic genius who inexplicably left us too soon. I am disappointed beyond belief.”
What’s more, he added, “The last 3 days have been a nightmare that I can’t wake up from. The only saving grace is knowing how much he is loved by others and that our family is not grieving alone. If you don’t know his work, help yourself on your own and find out.”
Davida concludes, “A rare gem in the rock world. Nick, you are my hero, I will love you forever and laugh with you for years to come. Heartbreak for the rest of my life. RIP Nick.”

As for his father, Howard is an attorney who specializes in designing and implementing tax plans for commercial and personal transactions and estates. Howard was born and raised in Montreal. He attended McGill University, earning a Bachelor of Science in 1970 and then a law degree in 1973. Howard Nemeroff was admitted to the Bar in 1974.
He is the Vice-President of the Canadian Deaf Research and Training Institute and was the Vice-President of Temple Emanu-El Beth Sholom from 1995 to 1997.
Additionally, Howard is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Barreau du Québec, the Canadian Tax Foundation, the Trust and Estate Practitioners Association, the International Fiscal Association, the Quebecoise de planification fiscale et successorale Association, the Montreal Estate and Finance Council and the Lord Reading Law Society where he has been a director since 1985 and was membership chairman from 1986 to 1992.
