Dolly Parton Is Ringing In Her 78th Birthday With A Surprise Gift For Her Fans

Dolly Parton went all out for her 78th birthday celebration, and her fans were there in the midst of the glamour!

Parton’s iconic career took a dramatic hiatus towards the end of last year when the singer took time off to focus on her husband’s health, but now she’s making up for it with a big surprise.

The music icon went deep into the archives to give his fans crunchy fresh songs from his 49th studio album, “Rockstar,” as he marks his 78th birthday. He announced this pleasant surprise in a new post on his Instagram page, which read:

“Hi fans and friends. It’s my birthday, so I’m going to give you a present! I released four unreleased songs for my birthday to go with the Rockstar album, and a few other songs you may have heard before that aren’t on the album. I hope you enjoy it, and I hope you all wish me a happy birthday! LOL. Thanks for everything.”

He completed the post by announcing that the surprise is now available on the streaming platform as his beloved fans flocked to his comments section to thank him.

One user wrote, “Love u Dolly! Thank you.! Happy birthday!” while another commented “may you have a sweet and friendly birthday Dolly! ?❤️?.” Someone who must have been enthralled by the promise of new music posted a comment to exclaim, “Dolly IS a rock star ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.”

If anything, Parton is making good on the important promise she made last quarter with this new release. The songstress assured her fans that she has no plans to quit her music career, adding that she will only bow out the day she drops dead on stage.

However, despite this promise, The Blast noted that the singer expressed his plans to cut back on touring due to the toll it takes on him physically now that he is much older. In his words:

“I’m not touring anymore, but I’ll continue to do special shows here and there, like long weekends or festival shows. You have to go so long on tour to make it productive and prosperous, and that’s a lot of time at my age – I don’t have time to waste.”

Although touring is out of the question for Parton, she revealed her desire to fully explore the film industry with plans to make a documentary in the future.

According to him, he wants to have his own story called “The Life of Many Colors,” which will center around his life and never-before-seen parts of how he grew up to be a music legend. Alongside her film career, she also envisions owning a beauty and clothing line, adding that she has received multiple offers to bring that vision to life.

Perhaps a sign that Parton is on track with her decision, the singer earned her third Emmy nod following the success of her NBC special “Dolly Parton’s Mountain Magic Christmas.”

The project features guest appearances from Willey Nelson and daughter Miley Cyrus and chronicles the adventurous life of Parton’s fictional character to “uplift a weary world by sharing the unique magic of the mountains.”

Parton’s off-stage life is just as important as her legendary career, as she takes a break from the hustle and bustle to care for her husband, Carl Dean, amid his battle with Alzheimer’s. The couple, who have been married for nearly 60 years, have been battling Dean’s diagnosis since 2019.

A source close to the singer confirmed that he “wants to make sure they enjoy every last moment they have together,” which is why he doesn’t hesitate to drop everything and meet her needs.

Parton is very private about her union, and despite recent health and physical changes, she still showers her husband with love and prepares his favorite meals. He has also previously expressed how difficult it is to be gone for long periods of time. According to him:

“We’re getting older now, and I don’t want to be gone for four or five weeks at a time. Something could happen.” I wouldn’t feel right about that if I wasn’t around and someone needed me. Or I would feel bad if I had to leave the tour if someone got sick at home and needed me, and then I had to go out to the fans.”
