Emmet and Gangsta Boo started their love story in 2014. But since both of them value privacy, they never let the outside world know what happened in their relationship.
But luckily, in 2022, fans got an inside look after they appeared on WEtv’s Marriage Boot Camp: Hip Hop Edition — and it wasn’t all good. While on the show, the two sat in front of Judge Lynn Toler in an attempt to resolve their issues.
Judge Toler asks Gangsta Boo what he wants from Emmet in the future. To which, Gangsta replied, “Put some respect in my name. I want him to respect me more.” Elaborating on the matter, he said, “[I want him] to hear my voice as a black woman. He always cuts me off… He just thinks he knows everything, like when I speak he automatically thinks of an answer.”
Afterwards, the judge turned to Emmet to ask why he was there. Immediately, Emmet then states that their issue stems from miscommunication and control issues. “When you say certain things to me, you worry me. I got a lot of insecurities about my masculinity growing up without a father,” he explained.
So, it is clear that both have problems. But not so much that they called it quits.
Gangsta Boo died on January 1, 2023, after a drug-related accident. Also, apparently her brother, who was with her that night, overdosed during the night and required hospitalization. Although he ended up being fine, Gangsta was unable to attend. Reportedly, witnesses at the scene of Gangsta Boo’s death insisted narcotics were found on him and fentanyl-laced substances were believed to be at play.
Flashing back, Gangsta Boo is a Memphis, TN rapper who rose to fame as a member of the Memphis-based rap crew Three 6 Mafia. Later, he left the group due to a money dispute and continued to build his solo career.

Emmet Flores never knew his biological family as a child. “I was born in 1977 and gave up on being adopted. I was a product of the foster care system and was severely abused,” he said.
