Willie McGinest has been charged with two felonies following an incident at a restaurant.

The former football player is charged with assault and battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and negligence. Court documents obtained by The Blast show the events of that night, he allegedly assaulted a man named Blake Adams at a Los Angeles nightclub called Delilah.
“At one point on the night of the alleged incident, McGinest walked past the plaintiff’s desk. Plaintiff, a football fan, recognized McGinest and attempted to engage in friendly conversation with McGinest by asking about the latest USC Football game.”
The former patriot player doesn’t take random questions or people asking him well. McGinest turned to the plaintiff and angrily stated, “why are you talking to me!” and walked away.”
Things escalated from there, according to court filings. “Shortly after that, McGinest suddenly reappeared and approached the plaintiff from behind. The plaintiff was seated. McGinest looked down and spoke into the plaintiff’s ear, “now what are you saying bitch?”

Adams must have been surprised by the interaction. “The plaintiff was shocked, scared, and did not realize what was going to happen. He tried to stand up to explain he was just a fan trying to say hello, when McGinest suddenly, without provocation, and without reason punched the plaintiff in the face.”
It looks like a rigid interaction if that’s the way it goes down. Adams also claimed in court documents that McGinest’s friends jumped in. “McGinest and another individual repeatedly punched the plaintiff in the face and body.”
Several bar patrons witnessed the incident last December in the run-up to Christmas. “Witnesses are identified [McGinest] as one of the individuals involved in the incident,” reported TMZ from a report from the Sheriff’s office.
There is also video footage that purportedly shows McGinest attacking Adams, punching him “multiple times.”

The former athlete is accused of brutally attacking a bar patron using a nearby bottle.
“At one point, during the attack, McGinest took a glass bottle from a nearby table and proceeded to hit the plaintiff several times in the face and head with the bottle. As a result of the attack, the plaintiff suffered serious and permanent injuries,” the report continued.
McGinest “was charged by the Los Angeles County District Attorney in the Los Angeles Superior Court District, with a special charge of causing great bodily harm.”
As for Adams, he is seeking general, compensatory, special and consequential damages.” His lawyers did not disclose the monetary value they were seeking, but fellow bar patrons also had to witness McGinest attack Adams with a bottle.
McGinest, on the other hand, did not deny any wrongdoing. Shortly after the incident, he admitted he had an “error in judgment” on the night of the beating. He went on to offer his “profound apologies” for the mistake.
He continued to express his disappointment in himself. “I am disappointed in myself, because I know this is an isolated incident and does not reflect my faith, role as a father, body of work, or the role model I have worked so hard to be.
