Fans have called out Chicago Bears management following their deafening silence on the sudden resignation of Alan Williams.
Williams, who held the role of the team’s defensive coordinator, surprised sports fans when he announced his exit. In the aftermath, many people took to social media to voice their concerns about what happened and why his former team didn’t handle the situation better.

A fourth cyber citizen stated that fans have every right to suspect that there is something else happen behind closed doors because “In most situations involving health and family, the Bears would just give Williams a long layoff, right?”

Cronin has written in his X that he spoke with Andrew M. Stroth – a Chicago-based sports attorney who works with Williams- and he confirmed that the former Bears DC has resigned “due to health concerns and family issues.” Citing Stroth, Cronin add:
“Given the false rumors and what’s been seen on social media, I just want to set the record straight that Coach Williams has some health challenges and some family issues that he’s dealing with and he thought it was a good time to take a step back and deal with those issues. He has a lot of respect for the Bears organization and he though it’s time to deal with these health issues and his personal matters.”
The long comment only troubled a few fans, making this netizen speculate, “Alan Williams and his lawyer keep saying it’s about health and family. But when that actually happened, the team did the right thing and they talked about resignations. Bear not yet. Which is strange.”

In case you missed it, the dramatic situation began after Williams, who had been away from the Bears for a week on what he described as a “personal leave,” issued a statement announcing his resignation. Per ESPNthe statement reads:
“I took a step back to take care of my health and family. I appreciate the opportunity to work with the Chicago Bears, a storied NFL franchise with a rich history. I appreciate the NFL shield and all it stands for and after taking some time off to address my health, I plan to get back and coach again.”
His commitment and respect for the NFL and the Bears was later reiterated by Stroth, who declared, “He has a lot of respect for the Bears organization and he just thought it was time to deal with these health issues and his personal matters.”
The Bears brought Williams on board in February 2022, shortly after Eberflus became head coach. The former Bears employee previously spent four seasons as the safeties coach for the Indianapolis Colts while Eberflus was the defensive coordinator.
This marks his second time with the Colts, as he previously coached the defensive backs there for ten seasons from 2002 to 2011. In addition to his time with the Colts, Williams served as the Minnesota Vikings’ defensive coordinator in 2012 and 2013, with even more impressive performances. from three decades of coaching experience.
