Celebrity fitness trainer Senada Greca shares a healthy pre-workout recipe for proat!

For those who may not know, proate is a combination of protein and oats, perfect for taking before (or after!) a heavy workout. Although many individuals choose to exercise in the morning, making proats an ideal breakfast, they can be eaten at any time of the day, usually about ninety minutes before a strength training workout!

In one of her latest Instagram posts, the celebrity fitness trainer, who has been working with “The Kardashians” star Kim Kardashian since January, shared her latest recipe for a pre-workout proat. “Energizing, Antioxidant, Anti-Aging, Pre-Exercise Proat” is what he calls the delicious recipe, which he shows in a white ceramic bowl.

“Did you know that Dark Chocolate contains more antioxidants than blueberries, making it a great anti-aging superfood?” he asked in the caption. “It’s also a great natural stimulant so you can probably skip your coffee or pre-workout. Research suggests aiming for 50-70g per day of dark chocolate, and the darker the better. Here I use 100% cocoa. No added sugar.” Although it may be bitter to some, it is an acquired taste!

“This is my latest discovery that gives me the motivation to focus, to get and stay energized during exercise without drinking before exercise (I’m not a fan of most pre-workouts out there. Most of them are bad for you),” he added, revealing that he eats this and only wait thirty minutes, not ninety, before starting his workout.

To make this recipe, she uses 1/2 cup rolled oats, 1/4 cup walnuts, 1 serving of protein powder (she uses peanut butter flavor) and an unspecified amount of hot water. He revealed that he mixed it all together and allowed the water to absorb the oats, but not completely, so it was still quite runny. He then topped it with 50 grams of dark chocolate.

Fans were quick to wonder about her latest recipe, though one of her followers had a really good question! “Anyone else having trouble on the ? side when using protein powder???” one user asked. “I need to eat real food like boiled eggs. I make Greek or Icelandic yogurt but I try to keep my dairy intake low because it’s very inflammatory in the body.”

I find plant-based powders do the same thing. I only use boiled eggs and egg whites. I need to stick to real food. I’m turning 50. Holy cow does your body say ‘absolutely not!’ to certain things when you are ‘mature in age.’ Time flies when you’re alive,” another follower chimed in.
