Florida teacher shows 4th-grade students twisted, murderous Winnie the Pooh knock-off movie, enraging parents

Florida fourth graders who expected to enjoy a fun movie day at school were traumatized when they witnessed one of their most beloved characters turn murderous.

Students in a class at the Academy of Innovative Education in Miami Springs were shown the slasher movie “Winnie the Pooh: Honey and Blood” by a math teacher on Monday, Oct. 2, for nearly 30 minutes before it was shut down after some children complained.

The film is a sick and twisted adaptation of a lovable child character who turns into a monster after his friend Christopher Robin leaves for college.

A mother, whose twins were in the class, was shocked by the teacher’s decision to show the film.

“I feel completely abandoned by the school,” Michelle Diaz told CBS Miami after meeting with the school’s principal.

The teacher didn’t immediately stop the movie after the scarier scenes started.

“They were exposed for 20 to 30 minutes to a movie called ‘Winnie the Pooh, Honey and Blood,'” Diaz said.

“He didn’t stop the movie, even though there were kids saying, ‘Hey, stop the movie, we don’t want to watch this,'” he added.

The mother also claimed that several children were severely affected.

“It’s not for them to decide what they want,” he added. “It’s up to the professor to see the content.”

The film, which has an NR rating for not being rated, was decided after teachers let students choose, according to Diaz.

Innovative Education Academy is a K-12 Miami-Dade County public charter school but is not subject to city school regulations, so it has full responsibility for the staff it hires, according to CBS.

In the bloody film, beloved children’s book characters turn into bloodthirsty animals looking for food after their friend Christopher Robin grows up.

“After Christopher Robin leaves them for college, Pooh and Piglet go on a bloody rampage as they search for a new food source,” the film’s plot reads on its IMDb page, which gives the 2023 film a 2.9 out of 10 rating.

“The Academy of Innovative Education has become aware that a segment of a horror film was shown to fourth graders, Monday, October 2, 2023, that was not appropriate for the age group,” Head of School Vera Hirsch said in a statement to CBS. “Our administration immediately addressed this issue directly with the teachers and has taken appropriate action to ensure the safety and well-being of the students.

“We are actively monitoring students and mental health counselors and our principal has already met with students who have expressed concerns,” he added.
