With “The Golden Bachelor” just days away from its debut, fans are looking forward to how this show might differ from others in the franchise, including how Fantasy Suites might fare.

While production doesn’t want to give too much away, the team confirmed the show has at least one overnight date.

“This is the first time we’ve ever heard someone say, ‘I have to consider what my grandkids are going to think’ before they go into the Fantasy Suite,” executive producer Bennett Graebner told Entertainment Weekly. “I really like that Gerry and women are open to the experience. But I don’t know if I want to hear the term ‘knockin’ boots’ again. I think I’ve heard enough of that.”

Turner himself then chimed in with an explanation as to why he used the “knockin’ boots” reference in the past. “I think what I’m trying to do is avoid some clichéd phrases about physical intimacy, and maybe I’m doing the opposite,” the future “Golden Bachelor” leader explained with a laugh.

He goes on to talk about Fantasy Suites, and what makes them so important to him. “The Fantasy Suite is about connecting intellectually and emotionally, and not about connecting physically,” he said before adding, “I think with a certain age and wisdom you realize that the most important and lasting things you look for in a relationship come from areas other than physical intimacy .”

Before Turner experienced the Fantasy Suites for herself, she opened up about how she assumed the overnight dates would “look a little different” than on regular seasons of “The Bachelor” or “The Bachelorette.”

“I just think that Fantasy Suite for someone my age might look a little different,” Turner told ET ahead of her “Golden Bachelor” journey. “The activity may be quite different from someone in their 20s and 30s.”

He later explained that the potential Fantasy Suite activities “absolutely don’t” make him nervous, adding that “they make my daughter more nervous than me.” The 72-year-old leader shares two daughters, Angie and Jenny, with his late wife, Toni. He is also grandfather to two girls, Charlee and Payton.

72-year-old Gerry Turner is a “retired restaurateur and loving father and grandfather, Gerry [GAIR-ee] Turner lives in his dream home on a beautiful lake in Indiana,” according to ABC. “He was always busy hosting barbecues, playing pickleball, cheering on his favorite Chicago sports team, four-wheeling, and spending time with friends and family at local restaurants and residences.”

The ABC press release continued, “Always a romantic, Turner married his high school sweetheart, Toni, in 1974. Together, they lived a full and happy life with their two daughters, Angie and Jenny, and later two granddaughters, Charlee and Payton. Unfortunately, after 43 years together, Toni suddenly fell ill and passed away in 2017.”

“Six years after Toni’s death and with the support of her family, Turner is ready to put herself out there and find a love that will stand the test of time in her golden years,” ABC concluded.

The 72-year-old recently said he’s looking forward to a new chapter in his life, telling the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast, “I want to enjoy every moment. I want to be able to make a mental note or write in a log book at night some important things of the day, and remember those moments. And if I can do it, it will be a lot of fun.

The new series will air this fall on ABC, beginning Thursday, September 28.
