Gwyneth Paltrow Confuses Much Of America, Including Me!

If you’re not scratching your head in confusion after hearing anything Gwyneth Paltrow says, are you paying attention?

He’s been on a rampage in the past few years and more in the past few weeks. Most Americans don’t seem to like him, or at least, are confused by him and his thought process. So, I’m sitting here wondering who’s buying the crap she’s selling – from her “health” routine to her candles that “smell like her vagina?”

Gwyneth Paltrow’s “Health” Advice Confuses Me!

My son’s childhood was filled with organic food, or at least healthy food, holistic treatments and some “attachment parenting”. I mean, I was a breastfeeding, babywearing, co-sleeping, organic-only mom for a long time. So, if anyone follows Paltrow’s advice and holistic lifestyle, one might think it’s me. But for the record, it’s not me at all.

I honestly wonder who listens to Paltrow talking about her “wellness” routine and thinks they should try the nonsense she spouts. Who sees a 10.5 oz candle called “This Smells Like My Vagina” on sale for $75 and decides they just have to have it? (And if anyone has bought this, can you help end the debate in my house about the scent of the candle?)

Not all of his Goop products confuse me, but most of them are expensive, more money than people would normally want to spend on skin care, supplements or sex toys. (Yes, you can find a variety of products on the Goop website.)

And for the record, Goop’s Instagram page has 1.7 million followers, so a lot of people are buying what Paltrow is selling.

Why Did He Stick Ozone Gas On His Back?

In case you missed this gem of information, Paltrow recently revealed that she has been doing ozone rectal therapy. And yes, it is as bad as it sounds. (Side note, if this is “health”, I’ll stay “unhealthy” thanks.)

So, for those who don’t know what rectal ozone therapy is, it uses medical grade ozone gas that is administered through an ozone generating device, you guessed it, up into your butthole via a catheter.

Dr. Stuart Fischer, an emergency medicine doctor who also studies alternative medicine, told The Daily Mail that the scientific evidence to support rectal ozone therapy is “controversial at best,” and that there may be “unknown side effects or unknown benefits.”

In 2019, the Food and Drug Administration warned against the therapy and its use stating, “ozone is a toxic gas with no known useful medical use in specific, adjunctive, or preventive therapy.”

With that said, why would anyone want to do this, and why would anyone listen to Paltrow, an actress and self-proclaimed health guru about it? At least I hope that if anyone hears she’s doing this type of therapy and wants to follow her instructions, at least they research it and make a decision based on science and not just what Paltrow does.

Recent “Health” Routine Exposures Are “Unhealthy” In My Opinion

Rectal ozone therapy wasn’t the only thing he revealed recently that made my head spin. A recent podcast where she talked about her daily “wellness” routine really got me confused and concerned.

His ideas of health and wellness include barely eating, drinking bone broth as a meal, exercising for an hour without food or nutrients in him, sweating in the sauna and eating more vegetables than any other food. While I am with him eating lots of vegetables, I am not with him to eat ONLY vegetables, or just paleo. It sounds unhealthy and frankly, boring.

I’m far from the only person who cares about him telling the world this is a normal daily occurrence for him. Just a quick search on TikTok will give you a full list of videos to scroll through that talk about how frustrating the podcast is to a lot of people.

As the podcast sparked interest online and people took to social media to discuss everything he had to say, he has come forward to defend his lifestyle. He shared on Instagram Stories that he ate full. “I also have days where I eat whatever I want, fries or whatever. My policy is to try to eat healthy and try to eat foods that really calm the system.”

If that’s true, I hope he’ll include it in his podcast. Those few sentences can really change a lot when it comes to followers, fans or just people listening to the podcast. He should know his influence on others, right?

Am I a fan of him? I think you can tell that I wouldn’t label myself a fan, but I wouldn’t say I hated it. My real issue is with the unhealthy truth he shares and people thinking that is real health. With celebrities having the platform to literally change the worldview, I wish she would talk a little more about what could be considered real health advice.
