Harry & Meghan DID Get Permission To Use Queen Elizabeth II Name For Daughter

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, DID get permission from the late Queen Elizabeth II to name their daughter after her childhood nickname “Lilibet.”

As we reported, it was previously claimed that the couple lied when they revealed that the Queen approved them to use the name and that she was allegedly “furious” with the couple when it came out.

According to reports, Harry and Meghan have full permission from Queen Elizabeth to use Lilibet as their daughter’s name. The unique name pays homage to the late king, who bore the nickname Lilibet since he was a child.

At first, a former staff member of the late queen claimed that the monarch was furious when the Sussexes publicly stated they had the blessing to use the name for their 2-year-old daughter. This raises doubts about the veracity of Harry and Meghan’s revelations. However, sources have confirmed that the couple were honest in stating they had the queen’s approval.

“Meghan and Harry have 100 percent permission from the queen to use the name Lilibet,” the insider shared Us Weekly.

They added, “The report is not true. [Harry and Meghan] don’t know where it came from.”

Claims about the queen disapproving of Lilibet’s name were made in the biography “Charles III: New King, New Court” written by royal author Robert Hardman.

In the book, Hardman also claims the queen threatened the new publication with court action when they claimed she approved the name being used by her 11th grandson. However, he noted that “the noisy threat of legal action died down” after a while.

According to the same source, the Sussexes “were surprised.” [such a report] coming now,” because it “seemed out of nowhere and came out of left field.”

They also claimed that the pair “feel like more than equals [smear] an ongoing campaign against them.”

The insider later explained that the approval for the name was not a secret, as “some people are aware.” They suggest that the Sussexes also think that the current designation may be due to the queen’s absence.

“[Harry and Meghan] feel comfortable [that] This comes out now that the queen is not here to defend herself and cannot say what is right or wrong,” the insider said.

This is not the first time allegations have surfaced about the Sussexes not getting permission from the queen to use the name Lillibet for their daughter.

Back in 2021, the two responded to a Palace source who said they “never asked” Her Majesty about using her childhood nickname and only did so on their own accord. They responded to the claim through their official spokesperson, even detailing the content of their conversation with the queen.

Recently, a different royal book also discussed other incidents involving the Sussex family, their children, and the royal family.

In Omid Scobie’s book “Endgame,” he stated that Harry and Meghan are “still hurting” because there was a delay in giving royal titles to their children, Archie and Lilibet.

The royal author claimed in her book that Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet should have received their royal titles shortly after King Charles’ accession. However, this process has been delayed for six months, despite King Charles allegedly assuring Harry that the change will be implemented in early 2023.

As well as being hurt by the delay, Scobie said the Sussexes were beginning to think their children were being treated differently than their cousins, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, who were born to Harry’s brother Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton. The royal author also claimed that Harry and Meghan found it difficult to feel comfortable with these differences.
