Jeremy Renner is finally out of surgery!

The actor who is known for appearing in famous movies, the most famous being “Hawkeye” from the “Avengers” franchise, recently had an unfortunate accident during the holiday period, and fans were shocked. Fortunately, the star did not undergo surgery, and it has been reported that it went well without any complications, but it may be too early to tell.

The 51-year-old reportedly did not undergo surgery after suffering blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries from operating a large snowplow. The “Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol” star, who was injured on New Year’s Day while at his property in Reno, Nevada, was taken to the hospital on Monday.

A representative for Renner tells PEOPLE that although he underwent surgery and is stable, he is not out of the woods and remains in intensive care in critical condition. The representative said:

“We can confirm that Jeremy suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries and underwent surgery today, January 2, 2023. He has returned from surgery and remains in the intensive care unit in a critical but stable condition.”

According to authorities, the “American Hustle” actor was revealed to be the only person involved in the crash, and the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Major Accident Investigation Team will be looking into the situation.

Earlier, there were not enough details about what actually happened until a source of the “Marvel Cinematic Universe” star confirmed that Renner was critical but stable, according to The Blast. They also stated that he is with his family and is receiving excellent care.

Deadline reports that the “Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation” star, whose home may have been among those that lost power during the New Year’s Eve winter storm, had to be sent to the hospital. In fact, the storm resulted in power outages in thirty-five thousand homes in several counties, including Washoe County.

The “Hurt Locker” actor has also starred alongside Hailee Steinfeld in the new “Hawkeye” miniseries from Marvel Studios. Steinfeld comes as his protégé, who is being trained to take over his position as the titular hero.

It also brought back Wilson Fisk, aka the Kingpin, Vincent D’Onofrio, after Netflix canceled Marvel’s “Daredevil.” He has also appeared in films such as “Arrival,” which was nominated for “Best Picture” at the Oscars, as well as “Wind River,” in which he worked with MCU co-star Elizabeth Olsen.

The musician began his career as early as 2002 with roles such as “Dahmer,” and, in 2005, in the film, “Neo Ned.” The Blast shared that of all the important roles he has played, one in particular never felt right until today.

Although his performance in the film “Dahmer” helped him attract the attention of director Kathryn Bigelow, which led to him being cast in bigger films, he continued to complain about the first one. He went so far as to state that it left a bitter taste in his mouth, leaving him looking over his shoulder months later.

In an interview, Renner said, “After I did the movie, playing a monster, things started to get creepy. My cat was stolen.” Not only that, he remembered that a random girl bit him hard while at a bar because he stopped paying attention to her.

His bite was so bad that he was hospitalized for treatment, which caused him to stop dating for a long time, adding, “there are a lot of people I want to date, but people I probably shouldn’t be dating.”

The latter situation made him very suspicious about drinking in bars because he felt that the role of “Jeffery Dahmer” haunted him because the character’s victims were taken from bars.
