Dua Lipa’s fans will not see the singer wow them during the 2022 FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted in Qatar. Unfortunately, there were unfortunate circumstances beyond the pop singer’s control.
Lipa, in a recent post on Instagram, refuted unfounded rumors that have been doing the rounds that she will grace the event and perform for the opening ceremony.
The “One Kiss” singer, while informing the public about his absence from the 2022 FIFA World Cup, used the opportunity to state the reason for his absence.

The “Levitating” singer, in a recent post made on his Instagram story, sent a full denial, informing his fans and the public in general of his plans not to attend the event taking place in Qatar.
The songwriter does not have any personal grievances against Arab countries other than their lack of acceptance and disregard for certain human rights, which they openly refuse to acknowledge because of the country’s religion and customs.
Lipa wrote a few lines, explaining and outlining her reasons for her decision. He begins by clearing up any misconceptions that may have arisen.
He wrote, “Currently there is a lot of speculation that I will perform at the opening ceremony of the world cup in Qatar. I will not perform, nor have I ever been involved in any negotiations to perform.”
He, however, insists that he will be rooting for his country England from the comfort of his home and will only change his mind about visiting the country when they agree to fulfill their human rights obligations.
“I will be cheering England on from afar and I can’t wait to visit Qatar when it has fulfilled all the human rights pledges it made when it won the right to host the World Cup. One love, Two x,” he concluded.
Lipa’s die-hard fans are considered to understand the singer’s point of view, knowing her independent nature, which she usually shows in her music videos.

Just as the “New Rules” singer spoke out against Qatar’s disregard for human rights, other individuals from around the world have criticized the country for its strict enforcement of laws and non-compliance with human rights standards.
Per Marca, Qatar’s 2022 World Cup ambassador and former Qatari national team player, Khalid Salman, during an interview, discussed the subject of homosexuality and its illegality in his country.
Speaking in general and also focusing on participants from other countries to the 2022 FIFA World Cup, he said, “They have to accept our rules here. [Homosexuality] is illegal. Do you know what haram means?”
When the host continued to ask Salman why it was Haram or forbidden, he said, “I am not a strict Muslim but why is it Haram? Because it is corruption in the mind.”
On the other hand, former Fifa president Sepp Blatter admitted he regretted allowing Qatar to host the world cup.
In his words, “The choice of Qatar was a mistake, and I took my responsibility because I was the president of FIFA at the time” he added, “Qatar is a small country. Football and the World Cup are for big countries.”

He said, “I also said to my friend one day, I said, ‘Every time I see Dua Lipa, it’s at an award show. So now it means if I see it, my life is going well’. So, now I just hope to see him again so it means my life is still going well.”
The 38-year-old had more nice things to say about her, adding, “You’re always amazing and generous. You are always a very beautiful light, just like in the space that everyone has. So, thank you for your time. I appreciate you”.
