Hunter Biden interviewed by special counsel investigating his father’s handling of classified material: reports

First son Hunter Biden is among a hundred or more people interviewed by special counsel Robert Hur during the months-long investigation into the president’s handling of classified documents, according to multiple reports.

Hur contacted Hunter’s attorney for an interview about two months ago, according to NBC News, though it’s unclear when that interview actually took place.

The special counsel is expected to reveal the findings of his investigation into President Biden’s retention of sensitive documents in a detailed report that is likely to be critical of the 80-year-old president and his staff and will be released in the coming months, according to Wall. Street Journal, which first reported that Hunter had been interviewed.

Hur conducted about 100 interviews during his 11-month investigation, including with Secretary of State Antony Blinken, White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, White House aide Steve Ricchetti and former White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain, according to the outlet.

The special counsel is not expected to bring charges against the president, the first son or anyone else in the case, according to several reports.

Hunter’s proximity to some classified documents, which date back to the president’s time as vice president and Delaware senator, has raised eyebrows among Republican lawmakers.

The 53-year-old lives in a Wilmington, Del., home, where classified documents were first discovered in the residence and garage by the president’s personal attorney in December 2022.

Additional documents with classified markings were found at the property in January.

Hunter began listing his Wilmington home as his address after his divorce from ex-wife Kathleen Buhle in 2017 – until falsely claiming that he owned the property on the July 2018 background check form as part of the rental application.

He also listed the home as the billing address for his personal credit card and Apple accounts in 2018 and 2019, respectively, Fox News Digital reported earlier this year after reviewing emails from his abandoned laptop.

Images on the laptop also show a battered “Important Documents” box and indicate Hunter has access to the family garage where documents are kept not far from where the president’s 1967 Corvette Stingray is parked.

A Wilmington address was also listed on Hunter’s driver’s license during the period when classified material was stored at the property, a time period that also overlapped with his first known son’s crack cocaine addiction and his lucrative foreign business dealings.

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) expressed concern in a January letter to the White House that “President Biden kept classified documents in the same location as his son’s residence while engaging in international business deals with enemies of the United States.”

Comer also demanded the White House hand over visitor logs from President Biden’s Delaware residence “based on the Biden family’s suspicious business scheme with foreign enemies” and the fact that sensitive material was hidden in the Wilmington home.

The White House claims no visitor logs exist, but the Secret Service admits it has some records of people who went to the property.

The Kentucky Republican is leading a three-committee impeachment inquiry into the president that has largely focused on the first family’s foreign business dealings.
