From beloved TV host to Villain! James Corden’s reputation continues to fall.
The popular entertainer, best known as the host of “The Late Late Show,” has recently been the target of media ire. The backlash began after a well-known restaurateur accused him of exhibiting bad manners towards his employees in 2022.
The controversy surrounding the British icon has skyrocketed following accusations from Craig Duncan, a member of the entertainment industry. What happened between the director and the famous comedian? Read on to find out!
James Corden Appears to Display a Repeated Pattern of Bad Behavior
As shared on his YouTube channel, Duncan’s alleged rude encounter with Corden took place in 2013. According to the “Fludded” host, the two met on the set of the competition series “A League of Their Own.”

The media personality is tasked with directing the Masterchef-style challenge outside the studio, featuring the “Into The Woods” star alongside other comedians. Recalling the episode, the Scot said: “The most difficult and annoying presenter I’ve ever worked with was James Corden.”
Duncan revealed that when the entertainer’s production company offered him the gig, his colleagues warned him about the “One Chance” actor’s “difficult” behavior. Despite previously working with “prima donna opera singers,” the media personality was unprepared for Corden’s character.
Following an invitation to watch a rehearsal of the show, the director was surprised when Corden’s mood turned sour while reading the cards. Recalling the moment, the director said: “[There was] kind of a joke there, and he just looked at it like, ‘That’s not funny, that’s not funny. it’s a shame We need to rewrite that.’”
Believing that the British entertainer’s outburst was due to a bad day, the TV producer accepted an offer to film the episode. Unfortunately, things took a turn for the worse when the father of three created a tense atmosphere on set.
“We’re working on it,” Duncan explained. “When the old bandits say, ‘What’s going on here? It’s clear what you’re doing. It’s very clear how you shoot it; you are stupid.'”
Trying to ease the tension, the director agrees with Corden and convinces his team to follow his lead. Despite choosing a peaceful path, the director noted that the stars of “Gavin and Stacey” continued to make filming difficult.
Explaining that they only needed five minutes to shoot, the Londoner returned to the studio 45 minutes late. Duncan’s lawsuit comes months after the Keith McNally restaurant story.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TvJoy88lx7YAs shared by The Blast, the famous restaurant accused the “Peter Rabbit” star of being the “most abusive” customer to his server Balthazar in the food chain’s 25-year history. In his Instagram rant, the British entrepreneur explained that Corden had displayed his appalling behavior twice.
The first incident occurred in June when the 44-year-old was “disgusted” by the restaurant’s manager after finding hair in his food. In the second incident, the comedian visited the restaurant for lunch with his wife, Julia Carey. However, things got heated after Corden reportedly yelled at a waiter for making a mistake with his wife’s egg yolk omelette order.
Following McNally’s accusations, fans were very disappointed by the actions of the Hollywood sensation. However, the “Carpool Karaoke” host tried to save his name by claiming he “didn’t do anything wrong.”
“I have not done anything wrong at any level. So why would I cancel this? I was there. I get it,” said the late-night talk show host in an interview with the New York Times, adding, “I feel so Zen about it all. Because I think it’s so silly.”
In response to the talk show host’s statement, the restaurant accused him of lying in profanity. He wrote, “I don’t want to kick a man when he’s down. Especially one worth $100 Million, but when James Corden said in the NY Times yesterday that he did ‘nothing wrong, on any level,’ was he kidding?”
He added, “Or does he deny abusing my server? Whatever Corden meant, the implication is clear: he didn’t.” McNally then offered to let Corden “eat free at Balthazar for the next ten years” if he admitted his mistake.
OBE Recipient Slammed For Plagiarizing Ricky Gervais
Last November, the 44-year-old man was embroiled in another controversy after being dragged on social media platforms for plagiarism. During an episode of “The Late Late Show,” the Londoner cracked a joke about guitar lessons.

However, the comedic material came from the same joke that Ricky Gervais delivered in 2018. Corden also told the joke using the comedian’s unique style. In a since-deleted tweet, “The Office” star commented on the similarities between the sketches.
The message prompted a fan to question whether the talk show host had asked for permission to use his material. However, Gervais revealed that never happened, noting that Corden may not be responsible for the plagiarism.
“No. I think one of the writers ‘made it’ for him. I doubt he would deliberately copy such a famous word for word,” the entertainer tweeted.
Once the story reached the British icon, the father-of-three apologized for the mistake while giving Gervais a special shout-out. Corden’s tweet read: “Accidentally told a great Ricky Gervais joke on the show last night, obviously not knowing it came from him. It’s brilliant because it’s a Ricky Gervais joke.”
