Actor Jamie Foxx and his daughter, Corinne Foxx, may not be hosting the next season of “Beat Shazam,” but they will be hosting a new game show called “We Are Family.”
The news came Monday shortly after the announcement that the father-daughter duo had been replaced on “Beat Shazam” by “The Masked Singer” host Nick Cannon and TV personality Kelly Osbourne following Foxx’s sudden “medical complications” last month.

Although they’re stepping away from their roles on “Beat Shazam” — for now — both Jamie Foxx and Corinne Foxx will be hosting a new guessing game show on Fox called “We Are Family.” The new series will premiere in 2024, which will give the Oscar-winning actor plenty of time to recover from the “medical complications” he suffered last month.
On May 12, Corinne Foxx took to her Instagram Stories to share a headline that read, “Jamie Foxx’s Loved Ones Reportedly Prepared For The Worst.” Beneath it, it says, “We pray he succeeds!” While the family still hasn’t revealed the cause of the actor’s medical complications, Corinne explained that Jamie is on the mend and playing pickleball!

“Update from the family: Sad to see how the media went wild. My father had been out of the hospital for weeks, recovering. Actually, he was in a pickle last night!” he wrote. “Thank you for everyone’s prayers and support!” He also added, “We have an exciting job announcement coming up next week as well!” This “exciting job announcement” is apparently their new TV show.
According to Deadline, the show was created by Fox Alternative Entertainment and will co-produce the show with “Beat Shazam” producer Apploff Entertainment. Matilda Zoltowski will serve as showrunner and will executive produce the new game show alongside Jeff Apploff and Jamie Foxx. The description for the new guessing game show reads:
“Featuring celebrity relatives who are not famous duets with their hidden famous family members, We are family will feature an entirely studio audience of 100 contestants playing through various rounds of clues and games to win up to $100,000 each by correctly guessing which celebrity is related to the performer before they are revealed.”
In a joint statement, the father-daughter duo said, “We are thrilled to develop We Are Family with Jeff Apploff and our friends at Fox Entertainment after so much success with six seasons of Beat Shazam.” They added, “We hope this show brings as much fun to viewers at home as we have created it when it airs next year.”

Shortly after the announcement, Corinne took to Instagram to let her 560k followers know about the new show!
“WE ARE FAMILY coming 2024!” she wrote in the caption. “The Foxx family is coming home to us on @foxtv & we can’t wait for this new show!”
Nick Cannon and Kelly Osbourne to Guest Host Next Season of ‘Beat Shazam’
On Wednesday, May 3, TV personality Kelly Osbourne shared a video from her Instagram Story showing her in the show’s DJ booth as the host welcomed Nick Cannon to the stage.
On Friday’s episode of the Today show, via PEOPLE, Kelly said that she was happy to fill in for Corinne while Jamie recovered. Kelly called Jamie Foxx “one of the most talented extraordinary human beings in the industry.
“It’s an honor to be asked to keep Corinne’s seat warm for her while everything happens,” he added. “It was a lot of fun. I hope I did him justice.”

“Beat Shazam has been an unscripted mainstay of the FOX schedule for six seasons and counting,” read a statement from the show’s official Instagram page. “This season, not wanting game show fans to miss a minute of the fun, Nick Cannon has volunteered to fill in as guest host for his friends Jamie and Corinne Fox. Kelly Osbourne will fill in as guest DJ.”
“Everyone at FOX Entertainment wishes Jamie the best of luck as he continues his recovery, and we greatly appreciate Nick’s willingness to step in and help out this summer,” the statement said.
Corinne shared the message to her Instagram Stories, writing, “Thank you so much @nickcannon and @kellyosbourne for filling this season! We are so excited for season 6!”

Nick then shared the message to his Instagram Stories, writing, “This is your house Bro Big!! I’m nothing without you!! I love you!!”
“Respect my boy @nickcannon,” Jamie Foxx replied, adding, “See you soon [sic] all soon.”
