On his Instagram page, Foxx wrote, “I want to apologize to the Jewish community who were offended by my post. I now know my choice of words caused offense and I apologize.”

He continued, “That was never my intention. To clarify, a fake friend betrayed me and that’s what I mean by “them” not anything else. I only have love in my heart for everyone. I love and support the community Jews.”

“I deeply apologize to anyone who was offended. Nothing but love always,” concluded the actor.

While supporting Foxx, one fan wrote, “I know you personally; I am Jewish and know you are the last person to EVER act Anti Semitic. You are kind and considerate to everyone. I will vouch for you always.”

While chatting with fellow actor Joseph Gordon Levitt for an interview with WIRED, Foxx openly talked about Jesus after being asked a question about veganism and also continued to read the books of the old testament.

“I’m Baptist, I’ve been Baptist all my life,” he said. “For me, Jesus is the foundation. Nothing against other vegans, I don’t know where they go as far as heaven and hell, but I know where I go as far as heaven is concerned.”

He added, “It’s about Jesus, nothing against Vegans, but we’re going to heaven here.”
