However, in a new post, the Latin dancer recalls her experience during childbirth while being filled with gratitude.

Having a baby is a special and very personal event, especially for first-time mothers. The American ballroom dancer took to Instagram to share a photo of herself in the hospital giving birth.
In several images, her husband can be seen playing around, keeping things light as the slideshow ends with a photo of him holding the newborn. In the caption, the new mom described how she felt during labor and delivery — “exhilaration, fear, pure exhaustion, and so much love.” Johnson wrote in part:
“I’ve always appreciated my body and what it helps me do and create in my craft… but nothing can prepare you for how magical that ship is and what childbirth goes through.”
The choreographer later revealed that he spent about 30 hours before they were finally able to meet their son. In conclusion, she stated, “Forever grateful I have the best support system to help me through ??”
In the comments, her lover jokingly wrote under her post, “Who wants to see the video ?,” while one fan said, “Oh honey, this is so beautiful. So proud of you, mama ?.” Another stated, “Sweetest moments. So happy for you, Jenn/Val. Life is always changing⚡️.”

While congratulating the couple, some praised her for posting candid photos, like this user who wrote, “Wonderful woman! You look beautiful- I love that you are sharing “real” maternity photos! Congratulations on baby C!”
Fans will recall that the couple tied the knot in 2019 and struggled with infertility for two years before announcing in July last year that they were pregnant. According to The Blast, a month later, they updated their followers that the baby was a boy.
The “So You Think You Can Dance” alum shared a black-and-white image via an Instagram post that featured Chmerkovskiy’s hand cradling his wife’s as their newborn held his thumb. “Our world is forever changing ?1.10.2023,” he wrote in the caption.
Soon after, the comments section was filled with congratulations from fans and friends, writing, “Congratulations!!!!!! Welcome to the best part of your life ❤️” One user joked about their child coming out of the womb dancing like his parents, “Congratulations. The kids might be out doing salsa. Hahaha.”

The TV personality duo is making pregnancy exciting as they are ready to welcome their baby boy and can’t wait to become parents. The Blast shared that the 28-year-old was candid about how supportive her lover has been since she got pregnant.
She stated that he made her feel “super powerful” and would constantly shower her with compliments for carrying their son while enjoying every phase of the journey. The “SYTYCD” star noted that it surprised her because they had been actively trying to conceive for a while, adding, “And this is something that we’ve wanted for a long time in our relationship. So I know that [Val] will be great and exciting.”
