“DWTS” couple Jenna Johnson & Val Chmerkovskiy couldn’t make pregnancy look any cuter as they prepare to welcome their first child in 2023.
The two, who have been married for about three years, are naturally eager to become parents, and Johnson seems to have all the support she needs from her loyal lover.

The “SYTYCD” star recently opened up about how supportive Chmerkovskiy has been throughout her pregnancy and how he made her feel “super powerful.” She said she loved every phase of the journey and was “always” grateful to him for bringing their baby.
Johnson doesn’t seem too surprised by his partner’s support as they have been planning to expand their family for some time. “We tried for a while to get pregnant,” she shared. “And this is something we have wanted for a long time in our relationship. So I know that [Val] going to be great and very excited.”
However, experiencing it has been on a “different level” with Chmerkovskiy as he has helped her see herself as beautiful despite her struggles with her body image during her pregnancy. He explained:
“I have always been beautiful toned, beautiful in shape, because of dance. So even though my body is constantly changing, it gets overwhelming and confusing at times. But she has made me feel very special and very beautiful.”
While waiting to welcome their unborn child, the ballroom dancer has learned “many things,” including “respecting and appreciating” her body that has always been there for her and holding “a precious little angel.” He also learned to slow down and change his mindset to ‘I’m not lazy, but I’m serving a purpose now.’
Back in July, Johnson opened up about the physical changes she experienced during pregnancy — changes that made her find ways to “be grateful and find moments of gratitude.”

This also led her to start a “little gratitude journal” where she writes down everything that happens to her body every day, including things she likes and dislikes. In writing about the experience, the April-born dancer focused on how magical the experience was and, at the same time, helped herself by trying to keep her mind in that mindset.
As for her husband, she described him as “so funny” in the whole experience and went on to reveal that he is obsessed with her body growth and has been “sweet and positive”, making her feel “so beautiful.”
Midway through Johnson’s pregnancy, she and Chmerkovskiy announced their baby’s gender on Instagram using a series of adorable photos and captions that suggested they were expecting a boy.
The Blast noted that the Ukrainian-American choreographer’s post, captioned with a simple blue emoji, featured two photos from an intimate gender reveal they held for their unborn son.
The first photo shows him and his wife holding a golden canister in a sunlit corner of the room, while the next shows them shooting a blue confetti cannon from the container.

Johnson’s Instagram update provides a more detailed look at the ceremony and begins with a black-and-white photo. Regarding her caption, she shared her and her husband’s excitement for the great news saying:
“HE’S A BOY!!!!!!! Today we are officially halfway to meeting our son. Saying those words still gives me goosebumps!! SO EXCITED to be a boy’s mom.”
Val Chmerkovskiy Tests Positive For COVID, Misses “DWTS” Halloween Episode.
The Halloween season comes with sad news for Johnson’s husband as he revealed that he will miss the Halloween episode of “DWTS” due to his recent COVID diagnosis.
The Blast reported that he updated his fans on Instagram about the news, using a video in which he expressed his displeasure, saying, “It’s upsetting, for lack of a better, profound word.”
However, the best thing about the incident is that her dance partner tested negative, meaning she can be replaced by another pro dancer to take part in the contest. This led to him urging fans to vote so they could return in the following week’s episode, possibly with him back on his feet.
The 14-time US National Latin Dance champion once again expressed her disappointment at the sad news, describing it as “hugely awful” as she feels like she’s let a few people down.
