Actor Jonathan course domestic assault trial takes a painful turn when his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari tearfully takes the stand to testify against him, revealing that her demeanor towards him has changed from love to anger.
Jabbari insisted that their tumultuous relationship had taken a toll on her, as she recounted incidents of alleged abuse, including the actor calling her a “monster” and threatening to take her life.
She recounted a particular scenario in which she tried to check her phone after an inciting message came in but was left to struggle in pain after he “pulled” and “twisted” her arm.
Both the defense and the prosecution now claim that video footage from the night of the event will help support their case.

The “Creed III” actor’s girlfriend took the floor in a Lower Manhattan courtroom to testify against him about the events and situations surrounding their union at the time. He was arraigned and faces three counts of misdemeanor assault, aggravated harassment and harassment.
During her tearful testimony, Jabbari detailed several incidents she claimed were examples of domestic assault, particularly when he assaulted her in the backseat of a car. He said that he had seen a text on his phone from another woman that read, “I wish I was kissing you right now.”
He recalled taking the phone out of Majors’ hand to get more clarity on the issue, only for him to “pull” and “twist” his arm as he reportedly felt a “hard blow” to his face.
“The pain didn’t register,” he shared. “I was aware that there was pain in my body, but I did not register anything. I am a dancer. I have danced with broken ribs.”
“I just think from my heart about the infidelity,” added Jabbari. “That morning, we talked about when we were getting married and our names [future] children.”

The dance instructor went on to tell how their relationship started and how sweet and relaxed it was from afar. Jabbari stated that Majors was a sweet person at first but reportedly changed for unknown reasons.
“He is really kind and loving. He told me that he loved me from the beginning, which was very sad, but I loved it. And I love him,” she testified in court. “He wrote a poem for me. I felt so loved and cared for and seen.”
Jabbari detailed a scenario where he was about to meet his dog and had mistakenly mentioned his ex’s pet, which apparently angered him and made him decide not to do it again.
“He has a dog, which I love, but I’ve never met these dogs before and they are protection dogs, which is something important to him, to have a protection dog. I tried to understand the meaning,” he said.

Jabbari continued, “The mention of the ex, dare I mention him, dare I talk about his dog, like talking about [physical] the appearance of my ex, talking about how embarrassing it is for him that I met him … his dog is pathetic, all this kind of thing.”
“It was the first time I was afraid of him,” she said. “I know not to mention my ex again or anyone I’ve dated before.” The pair met on the set of 2021’s “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,” where Majors played the lead role and Jabbari worked as a movement coach.
During his emotional testimony, Jabbari also claimed Majors branded him a “monster” and threatened to kill himself out of anger. “He said he was a monster and he wanted to kill himself and he put the act together to do that,” she claimed, adding that he walks “around on eggshells” when with Majors and has to always be “perfect.”

The actor’s defense team presented its case shortly after the trial began, arguing that Jabbari was the aggressor in the alleged abuse incident that fateful night. They also claim that there may be racial bias in the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, implying that the prosecution is against Majors because he is a black man.
In June, Priya Chaudhry, one of the actor’s lawyers, filed a countersuit against Jabbari, leading to a police investigation. However, the DA’s office quickly announced that it would not pursue these charges. Once the investigation began, Jabbari was reportedly very cooperative and even took himself into custody.

The DA’s office has since released a statement, stating that it has “officially declined to prosecute the case against Grace Jabbari because it lacks prosecutorial merit.” However, the judge, Judge Michael Gaffey’s preliminary ruling in the case, means that jurors will still be informed about Jabbari’s arrest.
Judge Gaffey, too, enforced the seal on “prejudicial” evidence in Majors’ case, noting that it could hinder Majors’ chance to get a fair trial.
