Actor Justin Long has finally announced his engagement to actress Kate Bosworth.

On Tuesday’s episode of his “Life is Short With Justin Long” podcast (translated by Page Six), the “Jeepers Creepers” actor revealed that he has something big planned around his birthday in January. However, the suggestion “spilled” in an “organic” way after the therapy session.
“I do have a special plan [Kate’s] birthday and about a month before that, life, as we talked about, things change, and sometimes they change drastically without any warning,” Justin said while talking to Kate on the podcast.
“It was a moment where it felt very organic and it felt connected to something very, very deep, very personal that we were going through, like, a change in real life, and it came out in a very organic way,” he added.

Justin said that the two have been in therapy because they’ve been going through “this very difficult thing,” which may have been Kate’s divorce from director Michael Polish, whom she was married to from 2013 to 2021. The divorce was only finalized a month ago, apparently after the two had engaged.
“[The therapist] gave us really great advice which was: ‘Make sure you consistently ask the other person what you need, or ask the other person what they need,'” Kate explained, saying she then asked Justin what he needed when both -both in private.
“And he, like, really looked at me and he said, ‘To spend my life with you,’ and I smiled and I said, ‘Well, yeah, you’ve got that. Oh my, you’ve got that,’ and he said, ‘No, I mean I really want to spend my life with you,'” she recalled, with the couple noting that the “organic” proposal just “fell out.”

A week after “The Horse Whisperer” actor finalized his divorce, PEOPLE reported that Justin had actually proposed to Kate about a year after they first went public with their relationship.
A source told the magazine that “Kate is just on cloud nine,” adding, “She’s showing off her engagement ring to friends. She’s shy about the details, but she’s beaming.” The insider went on to say, “Everyone is happy for him” and his friends opined that “Justin is a great guy. He adored her.
