Controversial rapper Kanye West has announced that his Instagram account will be updated with his new name, “Ye,” after threatening to shut it down because the handle is still “@kanyewest.”
In a post shared by West, he revealed a conversation with another individual in which he stated that he would not be bullied into using his legal name.
This comes after the rapper took to the platform to complain about being “raped” by Adidas, who he claims is suing him while releasing “fake Yeezys.”

Rapper “All of the Lights” West has taken steps to ensure that his royal name, “Kanye West,” will be removed from his Instagram page and replaced with “Ye.”
West announced in 2021 that he wanted to be known as “Ye,” claiming at the time that it was “the most common word in the Bible. And in the Bible, it means, ‘You.’ I am all of you.”
On Wednesday, she took to her IG page to tell fans that “her name [is] changed to Ye on Insta soon.”
In the post, she also shared an image of her chat with musician Justin LaBoy, which read, “I closed my Kanye West Instagram account. My name is Ye. No brand or number will force me to call myself what they want me to be.”

In a follow-up post, West shared another text exchange between him, LaBoy, and a third person. In the chat, LaBoy confirmed to the rapper that Instagram has been notified and is working on changing his name.
“Instagram has approved[…]They just walked into the office and called right away,” LaBoy wrote, adding, “Waiting for the info they need to make it happen today.”
In the comments section of his post, some of West’s followers noted that they would still call him by his royal name, with some joking that it sounded better than just “Ye.”
One wrote, “Imma still call you Kanye West because that’s what your mama gave you [you].”

The rapper recently slammed his former sneaker partner, Adidas, claiming that they sell “fake Yeezys.”
West said, “Anyone who likes Ye is not going to buy these fake Yeezys, I never made these colors in a way that I didn’t get paid for it and Adidas sued me.”
He continued, “All these celebrities and people will stand against my T-shirt or the color of my hat, but when you see me hiding my children from me or see a Fortune 500 company that actually raped one of your heroes in real life. , don’t say anything or do nothing.”
West also complained in another post that Adidas is suing him for $250 million and allegedly manipulating him with their “years of business experience.”
“Let me explain clearly to you what happened with Adidas. Not only did they release an unapproved fake colorway, they sued me for $250 million, and they didn’t even pay me for the shoes they released, which had my name on them,” lamented the rapper.
He added, “And they used contract clauses and 50 years of business experience to rape an artist. One of your favorite artists, right in front of you in broad daylight.”
Adidas has yet to respond to West’s allegations.
