Rapper Kanye West has apparently fallen out of love with his partially renovated Malibu home and has decided to sell it.
The Yeezy founder allegedly didn’t like the mansion he bought in 2021 for its postmodern style because the walls were “too gray.”
Kanye West Sells Malibu Mansion Because of ‘Grey’ Walls

West reportedly scrapped his sleek Malibu mansion because the concrete walls were “too gray” for his taste.
According to reports, the rapper will sell the mansion, designed by Japanese architect Tadao Ando, for more than $53 million after paying $57 million for it in 2021.
The 4,000 square foot house is now a shadow of itself after West tore out walls, doors, windows and pipes to create an even more gruesome appearance. And while the “Love Lockdown” rapper isn’t doing any renovations, he’s reportedly fed up with the “grey” color of the walls and will be putting them on the market for sale instead.
Resources shared with Daily Mail that West was willing to take the $4 million loss he would have incurred for selling the property at a lower price because “the concrete walls were too cold for his taste.”

“You prefer earthy, muddy colors from silt to clay but not too cool and nothing that flows visually like clay. Unfortunately, the concrete turned out to be more cadet gray and he was hoping for a warmer tone, more dovetail gray or a coach’s robe,” the source said.
The source continued, “You will only visit the house at sunrise and sunset, when he said the color doesn’t really irritate him. Finally, he stopped going altogether.”
According to the news outlet, the three-story building was built in 2013 for financier Richard Sachs, who took seven years to plan and build the house before listing it for sale.
Kanye West Teams Up With Jason Oppenheim To Sell Homes

West has enlisted the help of “Selling Sunset” star Jason Oppenheim to help sell the Malibu mansion.
According to the realtor, the home has 1,500 square feet of patio space, large floor-to-ceiling windows, and stunning views of the Pacific Ocean. However, at this time, there are no doors, air conditioners, or appliances.
Oppenheim praised the building’s craftsmanship, calling it “a very rare architectural achievement that should be seen as a masterful work of art, rather than simply a residence.”
However, according to Daily Maila warning was issued to potential buyers: “At this time all interior finishes have been removed from the property and work is required to either restore or reimagine the interior.”
Kanye West Sued Over Malibu Mansion

Although he plans to sell the property, West is embroiled in legal drama over the minimalist Malibu mansion.
The “All of the Lights” rapper has been sued by a former contractor, Tony Saxon, for labor code violations and is allegedly owed more than $1 million in unpaid wages and damages.
Working as a “project manager, caretaker, and 24/7 security,” Saxon claims he spent 16 hours a day and slept on the floor to realize West’s dream of an all-purpose house that looked like a “bomb shelter from the 1910s.”
According to Saxon, West ignored all of her safety concerns and fired her in November 2021 for refusing to remove electrical wiring and windows from the building.

“We’re going to tear it all down and build a building [West] Bat Cave,” which the rapper said could be used to “hide from the Clintons” and “The Kardashians,” Saxon said NBC in an interview, according to Daily Mail.
“[West] don’t want electricity. He just wanted a plant. He just wants a candle. He just wanted a battery light. And he just wanted everything to be open and dark,” he claimed.
The former contractor added, “You can’t store food in that house because you don’t have a refrigerator anymore. You don’t have a window. I have seagulls flying in.”
Rapper’s Real Estate Empire Reportedly Falling Apart

The recent news of the rapper’s reasons for selling his Malibu mansion comes days after it was revealed that his once famous collection of properties has been left in disarray.
One such property is West’s $1.5 million estate in LA, which he acquired to house his Donda Academy. Image of a piece of real estate, obtained by Daily Mailshows that it has been abandoned, with its surroundings marred by scattered broken furniture and shopping trolleys.
The “Runaway” singer also appears to have given up on the Hidden Hills home he purposefully bought opposite ex-wife Kim Kardashian during their divorce.
