Katherine McPhee Opens Up About Possible Baby No. 2 With David Foster

Katharine McPhee is looking to give her son Rennie Foster a sibling.

The singer talked about her desire during her appearance on “The Jennifer Hudson Show.” She shares her son, Rennie, with her husband of more than three years, record producer David Foster.

While explaining how much she loves being a mother, McPhee noted that she and her husband are not in any “mad rush” to get pregnant again.

Foster previously said in an interview that she did not regret having children with McPhee. The music veteran admitted that despite his busy schedule, he intends to make plenty of time to spend with his baby.

Foster also discussed his unique relationship with McPhee at the time, claiming that despite their age difference, they were “together”.

During her appearance on “The Jennifer Hudson Show” on Friday, McPhee opened up about motherhood after welcoming her first child, Rennie, with record producer David Foster on February 22, 2021, per Page Six.

The American singer and songwriter shared that she is looking forward to welcoming another child with her lover, whom she married on June 28, 2019, at a church in Kensington, London.

The music producer also has five children from previous relationships: Allison, 52; Amy, 49; Sarah, 41; Erin, and 36.

“I’d love to have another baby, but we’ll see,” the American Idol alum said in the interview, seemingly oblivious to the 34-year gap between her and Foster.

While McPhee hopes it happens soon, he and Foster are taking their time.

She added, “We’re not, like, in any mad rush, but, um, I hope so because I love being a mom. I love it so much.”

Foster also shared similar sentiments about being a new parent, recently revealing that he is enjoying the experience of being a father.

He informed Many people that welcoming a child with McPhee doesn’t make her regret it.

“I love every day,” he added. “It’s the standard stuff like, ‘Oh, you’re so young when you have your kids, and you work day and night, you never see them. And there’s some truth to that, unfortunately, for me. [older] children. “

The septuagenarian also shared that he plans to offer his son the wisdom he has gained over the years.

“I think I can offer Rennie one thing even though I won’t be around when he’s 50 or 40, or 30 maybe,” the 73-year-old said. “I think I can offer him wisdom from me [73] years on this planet, and maybe that’s not a bad trade-off. I hope so.”

Foster went on to explain that this perspective stemmed from her previous refusal to “be patient” and that she wanted to pass that on to her son.

“I was impatient when I was young,” said the Grammy Award winner. “I’m arrogant and just moving.”

Foster also spoke about his unconventional relationship with McPhee and said despite their age difference, they were “together”.

The music producer compared their relationship to legendary vocalist Celine Dion and her late husband, Rene Angelil, who also had a “huge age gap.”

“With Céline and [late husband] René Angélil, there is a big age difference…It looks and feels normal,” he said. “But it was, of course, a bit odd at first.”

McPhee, who participated in the interview, highlighted the history of their partnership as noteworthy.

She said, “We just love our history, how we met and where we are now. Sometimes we look at each other like, ‘This is so wild that we’re together.'”
