Kesha Shares The SHOCKING Reason She CAN’T Make Another Pop Album

Pop star Kesha is getting more candid about why she can’t make new pop albums anymore.

The “Eat The Acid” singer reached new emotional depths for her latest album, “Gag Order,” where she admitted to crying every day for weeks to complete the album.

Kesha burst onto the pop scene with hits like “TiK ToK” and “Your Love Is My Drug” before following it up with more pop singles like “We R Who We R.” However, following his hits “Rainbow” and “Praying,” it seems the 36-year-old singer may not be able to create another “happy” album anytime soon.

“My search for spiritual validation led me away from religion and toward arbitrary career goals that I believed would make me feel whole — albums, cars, money, fame, houses, tours, Grammy awards,” Kesha told The Tennessean ahead of his performance at the Mother Church, The Ryman, in the “soul” of Nashville.

“They’re all amazing, but they’re also a constant flow of temporary energy, like a drug,” he continued, adding, “Now, I’m at a place in my career where I feel complete, happy, and making art that has transformed PTSD and My trauma became something honest and beautiful.”

“I live this narcissistic and self-involved life for myself and my fallen fans around me,” he said, reflecting on his period of isolation during the shutdown of the COVID-19 pandemic. “Realizing that people had to live without my content or craft was an uncomfortable experience at first.”

‘When I desperately wrote my way through it, I cried every day, for three weeks’

He went on to say, “Resuming my craft as art in this chapter of my life requires me to channel the big emotions I use to put into song into a conversation with the universe about allowing a creation greater than my humanity to exist.”

He noted that success early in his career gave him the “privilege” to work on more soulful music. The “Something To Believe In” singer teamed up with producer Rick Rubin to create an “emotional,” “scary” and “open” track from her “gut” spirituality.

“Watching my insecurities crumble was a series of painful ‘ego deaths’ as I watched the world’s preconceptions about me crumble,” Kesha recalls. “When I desperately wrote my way through it, I cried every day, for three weeks.”

“At this stage of my career, I’m physically unable to go into the studio and lie to myself and everyone else by making a very insincere, happy pop album filled with fun party songs. Whether I like it or not, the truth is emerging [on “Gag Order”] not reflected in a perfect love song, either,” he said, referring to his fifth studio album due out in May 2023. “Parts of myself that I’ve neglected for so long — the ugly, anxiety-ridden emotions after the COVID-19 pandemic — are present. “

“My songs have evolved from guerrilla training to make pop hits,” he continued, “to an intimate art that I pour my soul into that has no boundaries or rules.”

Part of Kesha’s trauma stems from a decade-long legal battle against her longtime publisher, Dr. Luke, regarding allegations of sexual assault, battery and several other charges. He has responded with a countersuit alleging defamation.

However, their case was officially settled on June 22, 2023, a month before the trial could begin. In her official statement, Kesha wrote, “God only knows what happened that night,” adding, “Like I always say, I can’t tell you everything that happened. I look forward to closing the door on this chapter in my life and start a new one. I wish nothing but peace for all parties involved.”

“While I appreciate Kesha once again admitting that she cannot tell what happened that night in 2005, I am absolutely certain that nothing happened,” Dr Luke said in his statement. “I have never smoked drugs or assaulted him and would never do that to anyone.”

He went on to say, “For the sake of my family, I have fought hard to clear my name for almost 10 years. It’s time for me to put this difficult thing behind me and move on with my life. I wish Kesha well.”
