Kevin Costner has reportedly reached a divorce settlement with his estranged wife, Christine Baumgartner.
The settlement came after the former couple, who had been locked in a protracted court battle, learned the true amount owed in child support. A judge ruled in Costner’s favor, awarding his wife $63,209 in child support. A far cry from the $161,592 he claimed to begin with.
Baumgartner was recently spotted moving her belongings into a $40,000-a-month rental in Santa Barbara.

The long and ugly court battle between “Yellowstone” actor Kevin Costner and his estranged wife, Christine Baumgartner, has come to an end. New reports reveal that the former couple have agreed to the terms of a divorce settlement after four months of settling it in court.
As you can imagine, Kevin will see this as a win since he paid less than originally asked. But, the settlement will include a large amount of cash that will be transferred from his account to his ex-wife. As to how much, the settlement is still being held in private.

News of their settlement comes after the pair received a final ruling on child support payments to Baumgartner after a two-day court hearing in Santa Barbara.
Costner was initially ordered to pay $129,755 a month in child support for their three children: Cayden, 16, Hayes, 14, and Grace, 13.

This figure is significantly lower than Baumgartner’s initial request of $248,000 per month.
During the court hearing, Costner, addressing the situation by voicing his regret, said, “Somehow in this extraordinary world we didn’t make it, and I’m sorry.”
He stated that his main concern throughout his relationship with Baumgartner was their children and the possibility of divorce, given his previous experience with a divorce from his first wife, with whom he shared three children. Eventually, Costner and Baumgartner had three children and found themselves divorced.

The “Molly’s Game” actress claims that Baumgartner increased the amount of child support solely because of her financial means. Costner argued that the actual amount needed for their children was closer to $51,000 per month.
“My biggest concern is that the court ordered me to pay child support that exceeds my children’s needs and Christine’s needs,” he said at the time.
Costner emphasized in his testimony his desire to pass his fortune on to his children and declared, “I’m not hiding money from my wife.”
Baumgartner’s previous request of $248,000 a month was slammed by Costner, who claimed that most of the money was intended to cover Baumgartner’s plastic surgery expenses.

According to the news outlet, over $100,000 has been attributed to cosmetic surgery expenses for Baumgartner. Additionally, the documents highlight large sums spent on boutique shopping, large ATM withdrawals and other expenses unrelated to child support.
People’s Magazine at the time reported that Baumgartner claimed the amount requested was necessary to maintain their children’s accustomed lifestyle.

While testifying, Baumgartner described how any decline in their financial situation would affect their children. He noted their strong connection to the ocean, describing it as their home, and highlighted the proximity of the surf garage just 50 steps from “toes in the water.”
Baumgartner went further, explaining that it was more than just a place to live; it’s the whole experience. He presented the photo evidence to the court and said, “It’s more than this – it’s an experience.”
The former handbag designer emphasized the sense of community their children created, often referring to the Santa Barbara compound as “ours.” As outlined on the court, the property offers luxuries such as two guesthouses, a volleyball court, a garden and an infinity pool.
The day after the trial, Costner was seen enjoying breakfast with his youngest son. The match marks the Oscar winner’s first public appearance following his victory against Baumgartner in their child support court battle.
Costner’s estranged wife was also recently spotted moving all her belongings into her new $40,000-a-month Santa Barbara rental home.
