Meet Kimbrady Carriker, Philly Mass Shooting Suspect
On Independence Day 2023, in the area of 56th Street and Chester Avenue in the southwest part of the city, a suspect indiscriminately opened fire on people with an assault rifle. After people called 911 to report the shooting and others flagged down officers, they found a gunshot victim at the scene and as they began to put the victim into their patrol car, they heard more gunshots. So the officers then ran towards the sound and found Kimbrady Carriker.
According to officers, they were forced to chase and corner Kimbrady in a back alley of 1600 Frazier Street. He wears a bulletproof vest and has several magazines, a police scanner, an AR-style rifle, and a handgun. However, they were unable to establish a connection between the victim and the shooter, and investigators did not know a motive for the shooting.
As for the casualties, reports state that a 2-year-old boy and a 13-year-old boy were shot and injured, while another 2-year-old boy and a 33-year-old woman were injured by flying glass.
“What happened last night in our Kingessing neighborhood was disgusting and horrific,” Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw said in a news conference.
On the other hand, Kimbrady’s neighbors were shocked that he was accused of this violence. “He talks to everybody. He helps with everyone,” said a neighbor. “If you park on the side of the road and the police come, he’ll knock on your door and tell you like they’re going to give you a ticket or whatever.”

When Kimbrady isn’t working, she likes to write about the Gun Rights & Anti-Violence Program on Facebook (now removed). His FB profile picture shows Keanu Reeves in the movie “Matrix”, and his top post, from the day before the mass shooting, is a YouTube video showing a gun.
Additionally, he recently shared an article about Philadelphia’s anti-violence initiative. “I found this on NewsBreak: Philly’s anti-violence grant program shows promising results, despite some hiccups, new evaluation plan,” Carriker wrote in the post.
It’s clear that he hates Joe Biden and his movement to take away gun rights, and is a big supporter of Donald Trump.
He also shared a video of Biden and wrote, “This president y’all. We say 2A defends our rights. Now god save the queen while she tries to get hold of our weapons.” Sharing another video titled, “Biden turns red, in latest gun grab speech,” she wrote, “I’m telling you he wants your rights. GOD SAVE THE QUEEN SAYS BIDEN.”
Additionally, he was vocal about the Black Lives Matter movement and supported the workers who protested in the Strike For Black Lives in July 2020.
With this being said, Kimbrady certainly doesn’t have the best history to back it up. Prior to the mass murder charge in 2023, had faced drug and firearms misdemeanor charges from 2003, which led to probation.
Is Kimbrady Carriker Married?
Kimbrady Carriker may be single in 2023.
But from 2021 to 2022, he lived with Tina Rossette, then 47, and her daughter Cianni Rosette, then 22, who described their relationship as just roommates.
Tina said that Kimbrady was “really smart, smart, creative,” and interested in computers. “I didn’t even know he had a gun,” he shared before adding that he has an “aggressive approach to some things in life.”
Instead, Cianni admitted that Kimbrady showed him the gun. She also revealed that she had rejected Kimbrady because of a romantic relationship and that she was in a “dark place.”
