The ongoing 13th season of “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” continues to reveal the tensions and challenges in the union of Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky.
One of the rifts in the marriage was highlighted in the latest episode where Sutton Stracke expressed her disapproval that Umansky missed the celebration of life her partner organized for her deceased best friend.

In Wednesday’s episode, Stracke raised questions about Umansky’s actions, citing his absence from a celebration of life held by his wife for her lifelong friend, Lorene Shea, who died by suicide in May 2022. “Where’s Mo?” Stracke wondered aloud when Richards visited him in the days after the event. In response, Richards explained:
“He is in Mexico City. He was in Aspen and then Mexico City. He went to Aspen and then flew on his friend’s plane to Mexico City.”
However, as he noted, Umansky will be back in time for an event organized by Dorit Kemsley for the Homeless Not Teeth charity. Stracke’s thoughts on his friend’s explanation came in the form of a confession. In it, the “RHOBH” star says:
“I do not accept the reasons Mo gave. Unless you’re in the hospital or dying in the ditch, you’ll be there for your wife and your wife’s best friend’s family.”
Later in the episode, Stracke expresses his frustration further, stating, “Okay, Mauricio, you can come to the Homeless Not Toothless event, but you can’t come to the celebration of life event for your wife? That’s messed up.”
On the car ride to the charity event, Umansky asked about how Richards’ rally was going. He shared his hope that people will enjoy themselves and pay tribute to Shea while addressing the critical topic of mental health.
Trying to find certainty about her absence at the event, the 53-year-old asked if no other husband was present. Although true, Richards expressed some disappointment in the admission that he was not present.
“Would it mean something to me if all of a sudden, he showed up at the show for Lorene? Of course it will happen. He’s close with her too,” the television personality shared, as video footage showed her comforting one of Shea’s family members at the event who asked about her husband’s presence.
Kyle Richards Tribute To Honor His Beloved Friend
Richards previously made headlines after she posted some throwback photos on her Instagram, featuring herself and Shea from childhood to adulthood. One striking photo captures the two as teenagers, sitting with their knees drawn to their chests, both smiling at the camera.
In another photo, the friends lie on a boat while wearing swimwear. The third image from the collection features the actress and her best friends with their families, including Umansky, on a mini-boat.
In no time, the BFFs were wearing matching hats and handbags. The ninth image captures them enjoying themselves, with Richards sipping her drink in a sparkling long-sleeved dress adorned with diamond accessories. Shea, in a tiny green string ensemble, smiled sweetly. In the last slide, they are happily photographed with mutual friends.
The Blast notes that the accompanying caption showcases the “Father Knows Best: Home for Christmas” star’s love and longing for his best friend. It reads:
“One year without you & not a day goes by that I don’t think of you and wish I could call you to share, listen, laugh … the best friend a girl could ask for. Love and miss you so much, Lorene ❤️.”
Three months later, Richards honored his best friend on his 54th birthday. Given their lifelong friendship since childhood, she takes a nostalgic trip down memory lane, sharing intimate photos of them.
The socialite uploaded a slideshow featuring various photos throughout the year. The heartwarming ten-frame post focuses on the eternal fun they share together.
In the caption, Richards typed, “Happy heavenly birthday Lorene ? So grateful for all the years we spent together. I miss you everyday ?.”
