A Los Angeles-based model fears for her life following the mysterious deaths of two other models in their apartments, including one in her own luxury building.
Brittany Mason, a fashion and beauty product model and content creator, told KTLA she didn’t feel safe after the bodies of Nichole “Nikki” Coats, 32, and Maleesa Mooney, 31, were found just two days apart.
Mason, 26, claims several models – including herself – live in Skye’s luxury apartments at Bunker Hill in Downtown Los Angeles, the same building where Mooney, a model and real estate agent, was found dead on September 12.
She said she started to get scared when she saw different men coming in and out of her neighbor’s apartment.
“At first, the unit across from me — people were renting it out — so I saw different people coming in and out every day and the other thing was, at one point, people had a big party and there were a lot of guys coming here,” Mason told KTLA. .
Along with different visitors to her neighbor’s unit, Mason said she’s seen people sleeping on the stairs.
“Honestly, I don’t feel safe and I shouldn’t have to live here if I don’t feel safe,” he said. “I guess that’s fine.”

The model’s problems worsened after her request to cancel her lease was denied.
Mason’s lease has a few months left and the apartment management won’t let him out without paying a penalty, because information from them is “scarce” or “non-existent,” he told the outlet.
Police are viewing Coats’ death as a “death investigation” and not a homicide like Mooney’s case even though her father and aunt found her lifeless body on the bed, crumpled up.

“He was just wearing his underwear and one of his hands was out,” Guy Coats told The Post. “I couldn’t see for too long and had to turn away, but I saw his fingers starting to turn black at the ends.”
He also had bruises on his forehead and lower lip and his face was so swollen that he had to be identified by his tattoos.
Mooney, younger sister of Guyanese pop star Jourdin Pauline, was found after a medical check by the LAPD.
“My heart is broken I can’t believe you won’t be here with us anymore. you are so loving and so good to everyone … this hurts so bad I can’t believe my little sister is gone!!!!!” Pauline said on Instagram.

“How could you not be here, we should be growing old together and having babies and cooking instead of war (you are the best chef ever). this felt so real, i kept waking up crying thinking i was in a nightmare. we will get justice for you my brother. I promise you won’t go in vain!!!
The buildings where Coats and Mooney lived were about three miles from each other, and given their ages and occupations, the public began to raise concerns about a possible connection between the two deaths, but those rumors were quickly dismissed by the LAPD.
“Based on the investigation to date, there is no evidence to suggest that the deaths of Ms. Coats and Ms. Mooney are related to each other,” the LAPD said in a press release last week.

“This is ridiculous and I want some answers because my daughter is gone,” said Sharon Coats, Nikki’s mother. “And it’s not fair. I want everyone to know who did this to her. He shouldn’t have gone.”
