“Black Panther” star Letitia Wright is getting candid about how she coped after her traumatic accident on the set of “Black Panther 2.” Filming for the sequel began in June 2020 and continued until earlier this year due to Wright’s accident while filming a chase scene.
The actor had to be hospitalized after the incident due to a broken shoulder and other injuries including a concussion. The incident took place in August 2021, and while filming for scenes unrelated to Wright was underway, production was eventually halted in November 2021. It resumed in January 2022.

Wright was part of Diversity The cover story of “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” and touching when he was injured during the filming of the superhero movie. The actor was injured after an incident with a motorcycle that happened at the end of August last year and landed him in hospital.
Wright revealed that she is still working through her feelings about the incident and is currently in therapy. “I’m still processing it,” the actor said. “I’m still working through it in therapy. It was really traumatic.”
Despite the severe injury, Wright revealed that he was only interested in finishing the sequel to honor his late co-star Chadwick Boseman. “I just remember wanting to finish my movie, man,” the actress said. “I think that was one of the first things I said to Ryan. And he was like, ‘Tish; you need to recover.’”

Wright’s accident happened in Boston on the set of “Wakanda Forever”. At the time, the actress was with the production’s second unit crew while the film’s producer Nate Moore and director Ryan Coolger were on the main Atlanta set. Current Diversity interview, the director revealed that he was devastated after getting a phone call about the incident.
“It’s about how you can imagine,” Cooger said. “I mean, I like this actor. That’s me and Chad’s little sister. Imagine getting a call that hurts your little sister. It’s the worst thing in the world.”
Wright was soon joined by Coogler and Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige at a Boston hospital. The president revealed that such an accident was quite horrific, coupled with the strained emotions of the actors. “It’s horrible on any production that happens to anybody,” Feige revealed. “It’s very hard on this production which is already, uh…emotionally strained.”
‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ Has Been Paused In November 2021
After the death of Boseman, the original Marvel “Black Panther”, the entire plot of the film had to be rebuilt. After Wright’s accident, he moved from Boston to London to recover, and production stopped for a while. The film’s progress was halted in November 2021 for the actor to recover properly.
“Black Panther 2” officially begins filming again in January 2022; however, Wright revealed he struggled with post-concussion syndrome when he returned to the set. He also talked about the incredible medical care he received and how people on set were so understanding.
“I had great, great, great medical support, great patience on set,” the actress said. “I am very proud of myself. I’m so proud of Ryan, of the team, for just perseverance — overcoming adversity every step of the way. When I finished filming, I cried like a baby.”

Wright’s accident on the Boston set sent him to the hospital with a concussion as well as a broken shoulder and other injuries. The actor was shooting a chase sequence that put him on the “cookie platform.” The camera follows Wright as he rides a motorcycle in a real environment.
The film’s producer, Moore, revealed that the biscuit rig “cut the median and shaved the bike, and it fell over,” while the actor was still on it. After the incident, Feige issued a newsletter to the cast and crew of the sequel revealing the extent of the injuries and delaying production until early 2022.
follow Deadline, part of the letter reads, “It has been a painful process, and Letitia is recovering at home with her doctor and family support.” Wright also sent a video message to the crew, thanking them for their support. The Disney movie “Wakanda Forever” will be shown in cinemas nationwide on November 11.
