In an interview with Rolling stones, Neeson discussed his interview on ABC’s “The View,” which aired nearly a week ago. The actress recalled feeling “uncomfortable” during the show, mainly due to some of the hosts’ reactions to her presence.

He hoped their conversation would focus on important issues, especially since he had heard them discuss gun violence in America before he joined them on stage.

“I went up on stage and joined the ladies during the break, and I congratulate them on this discussion,” Neenson said of the hosts, Joy Behar, Whoopi Goldberg, Alyssa Griffin, and Sunny Hostin.

He added, per Insider, “And then our segment starts, and it’s just BS with Joy and Liam Neeson and having love, and I’ve known Whoopi for years and Joy a little bit, but I’m not impressed. I’m not comfortable in that situation, you know?”

Neeson had come on the daytime show as part of his publicity tour for his film “Marlowe,” which marks the big milestone as his 100th film.

However, the actor was bombarded with statements about Behar’s crush on him for most of the show. A compilation of footage even shows Behar making comments like, “I just want my ashes thrown on Liam Neeson.”

The star of “The Grey” got a chance to explain why he chose to star in “Marlowe,” citing the film’s solid storyline. He also mentioned that this is his fourth time working with the film’s director, Neil Jordan.

In the film, Neeson plays Philip Marlowe, a fictional private eye created by Raymond Chandler. Diane Kruger, Jessica Lange, Alan Cumming, Ian Hart, and Danny Huston are also included in the cast.

Neeson also commented on his long film career and his reputation as an action star in another part of his conversation with her Rolling stone.

He opened up about one of his critically acclaimed films, “Taken,” saying that he feared the film would be a commercial failure during its production.

Referring to his fear, the actor recalled asking the director to remove scenes that seemed to share the same narrative with other action films.

“I pleaded with Pierre Morel, ‘Please, can we reduce this? This is so corny. I think I’ve seen this and heard this in a lot of movies,’” Neeson recounted the experience.

He added, “I always thought this was a straight-to-video movie, but was pleasantly surprised when Fox cleverly cut a trailer, showed it at a big sporting event, and it became a success when it was released. Again, I’m a little embarrassed.”

Another part of the conversation saw Neeson reveal that his late wife Natasha Richardson would not have married him if he had ever accepted the role of James Bond.

He shared the details after being asked if he turned down the iconic role in 1995’s “Golden Eye.”

“My dear wife, God rest her soul, said to me while we were shooting Nell in the Carolinas, ‘Liam, I want to tell you something: If you play James Bond, we’re not going to get married,'” Neeson said, adding that he ” interested” but didn’t get the role.

“He gave me James Bond’s ultimatum. And he meant it!” he continued, then said his wife was adamant about it because the fictional character was associated with the concept of a female lover.

The two were married for nearly two decades until Richardson’s death in 2009 after a skiing accident.
