Back-to-back wins for team USA! Lindsey Jacobellis earned her first gold medal and Team USA’s second in the 2022 Winter Olympics won the “women’s snowboard snowboard” and “snowboard cross country mixed team” titles.

Lindsey Jacobellis’ parents, Ben and Anita Jacobellis, are her biggest supporters. Both stayed up all night watching their daughter play in China.
“It’s just a dream come true. I didn’t watch it live because I never watched it live. I hid,” shared Anita.
Her parents also added that they have a good feeling about Lindsey’s run. Seeing their daughter doing “good and confident,” the couple was sure Lindsey would “get it done.”
And the kid sure did! Lindsey, straight out of the gate, never lost the lead, earning the gold medal in the women’s snowboard cross.
“He did it. He did it and it was amazing,” shared Anita after the win. As for the father, he said that they had “waited for this day for so long”.
Meet Lindsey Jacobellis’ Father, Ben Jacobellis
The proud father of gold medalist Ben Jacobellis made a big impact on his daughter’s passion. When Lindsey was a child, he often chased her down the slopes. And since Ben wasn’t going to wait for his daughter, Lindsey had to “not be afraid to go fast.”
“And my mother always said, ‘You don’t have to stay with them, we can go to another run.’ And I was like, ‘No. I like to go fast, I want to stay with them,’” Lindsey recalls.
Also, when Lindsey fell during the 2006 Olympics in Italy just moments before she was set to earn her first gold medal, her father was there to witness it. Then, he assures that there will always be another chance. “The sky’s the limit for Lindsey, you know? Always like that,” shared Ben.
Ben Jacobellis was born in Nov 1951. That makes him 70 years old in 2022.
Also, this means he was 34 when he had Lindsey.
Ben Jacobellis is an electrical limited contractor, licensed by the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection (DCP) in Oct 2008. At the time, he worked for a company called Electronic Security & Control Systems Inc.

Meet Lindsey Jacobellis’ Mom, Anita Jacobellis
Lindsey’s mom, Anita Jacobellis is her “mental rock.”
According to the Olympian, it is only because of his mother that he stands as he is now. “I love you so much, MOM. Thank you so much for everything you have done for me in my life.” she once posted on Mother’s Day.
Besides being Lindsey’s “mental rock”, her mother is also a fighter. When Lindsey was still young, Anita was diagnosed with breast cancer, which she completely beat in 2004.
Commemorating her mom’s 11+ years cancer free, Lindsey took to her IG in Oct 2015, to write, “Hey ladies! It’s breast cancer awareness month! Be sure to check yourself!!! My mom is 11+ years cancer free! This is due to regular screening and early detection. Get it! @keepabreast”
Anita Jacobellis was born in Feb 1952. That makes her the same age as her husband which is 70 years in 2020.
However, Anita was 33 years old when she gave birth to Lindsey.
Anita Jacobellis is an educator. He was a private tutor for American snowboarder Meghan Tierney when she was younger.
“He’s so much fun to work with, he makes me laugh every day. He’s a great kid, very smart and sophisticated in his thinking,” Anita recalled of her days with Meghan.
