‘Love Is Blind’s Nick Thompson Is Tackling THIS Serious Topic On Instagram

“Love Is Blind” alum Nick Thompson certainly doesn’t turn a blind eye when it comes to openly discussing mental health.

Thompson, who is in the process of divorcing fellow mental health advocate Danielle Ruhl, took to Instagram on Friday to shed light on the important mental health struggle.

Mental health has been prevalent for Thompson and his current ex. Viewers watch Thompson as she falls in love with Ruhl during the second season of the hugely popular Netflix dating series; Thompson and Ruhl are often shown trying to navigate her anxiety struggles on camera.

Thompson continues to advocate for mental health nearly a year after audiences were first introduced to him through “Love Is Blind.” She lists “mental health & wellness advocate” as a component of her Instagram bio.

Read on to find out what mental health struggles Thompson chose to highlight in her latest Instagram post.

Some “Love Is Blind” viewers weren’t interested in how Thompson responded to Ruhl’s struggles with panic attacks while the couple was dating.

However, Ruhl would soon clear the air in an Instagram post, offering further insight into Thompson’s reaction to the “traumatic” experience he would recount to her while the two were in Mexico.

Ruhl explained her panic attacks were inspired by her fear she had revealed too much about her past to Thompson early in their relationship. She will also reveal that Thompson was unaware of her panic attack when she went to a party with their cast mates.

“Nick didn’t know what was going on,” Ruhl explained, “but when he found out what was going on behind the scenes, he was more than supportive, and we were able to learn from him and get past it.”

He would keep repeating that he still had a lot of work to do on his journey. Ruhl wrote, “How I’m represented on TV is not an accurate reflection of who I am as a person, I understand that I have things to work on, and I was in a great mental space before going on the show. However, the stressful environment brought me back to a place I never expected…”

Unfortunately, things between the two changed drastically following their divorce.

Earlier this month, Ruhl claimed that her ex and his team allegedly tried to “silence” her from speaking out. She also claimed Thompson was trying to “control the narrative” surrounding the couple’s split.

“Just because he doesn’t talk on social media doesn’t mean there aren’t worse things behind the scenes. I’m proactively saying this bc I know what he has with the media… etc… and bc he’s going to this low, I’m training [sic],” claimed Ruhl via Instagram.

She would also write “I have to say this because Nick is going to extreme lengths to put me down, silence me and control the narrative because he wants to go on another reality show and blame me for potentially not being able to…”

Thompson, 36, addressed Seasonal Affective Disorder (also known as SAD) in an Instagram post, offering three tips for her followers to help ease the effects of SAD.

“With so many of us struggling this time of year, I wanted to share some tips that have helped me better manage my seasonal depression,” Thompson wrote.

Thompson’s tips include “Prioritize fun social activities and find creative ways to stay connected with others,” “Keep a regular schedule to get as much sunlight exposure as possible during the day,” and “Move your body with exercise or strap on and take a walk— street in broad daylight.”

Clayton Echard of “The Bachelor” fame ‘liked’ Thompson’s post! Echard has been going through a public mental health battle following the end of her season leading the long-running reality TV series.

Thompson and Ruhl’s divorce was announced earlier this summer. It was Ruhllah who filed and brought the process forward. The former couple haven’t spoken since October, according to one of our reports covering their marriage dissolution. (per The Blast)
