Over the weekend, the “Vogue” singer kicked off her Festival Tour in London at the O2 Arena in Greenwich. During the show, the Pop culture icon proved that his status as a music icon is far from over at the age of 65. However, it can incur a heavy fine for exceeding the scheduled time.

On Saturday, Madonna gave audiences a stunning 140-minute set for the opening night of her Festival Tour. However, he could not repeat the same result on the second day as he made it to the stage at 9pm, leaving little room for him to beat the Arena’s strict 10:30pm curfew.
Despite his best efforts to deliver a memorable performance, the 65-year-old was forced to cut beloved hits including “Like a Virgin” and “Celebration.” However, it wasn’t enough to stop him from spending an extra 30 minutes on stage and ending the concert at 11pm amid warnings that fans might miss the last Tube train.
As a result, he could be fined as much as £300,000 ($364,990) under the Curfew rules drawn up by arena operators and Transport for London. According to The Sun, borrowers are required to pay a fine of £10,000 ($12,166) per minute for each minute exceeded.
However, the “Ray of Light” singer may have dodged a bullet as Greenwich Council insists its midnight curfew has not been breached. A representative for the council clarified they would not be pursuing the matter, saying: “We do not intend to investigate.”
Naturally, concertgoers were saddened by the incident with many expressing their displeasure on social media. One distraught fan slammed the venue’s strict rules, writing: “How dare the b—–s at the O2 cut off Madonna.”
