Actress and comedian, Mindy Kaling, recently posted her current thoughts on her hit comedy series “The Office.”
Multiple hyphens who starred in the show for eight seasons said that the sitcom would be offensive to this generation of viewers and that all the characters would be under the null culture.
She also shared her insight into why the show remains popular despite its mature content and resisted the idea of introducing the sitcom to her two children, Katherine, 4, and Spencer, 2.
Kaling previously discussed her dating life on “The Drew Barrymore Show,” where she shared that she has no plans to rekindle her past relationship with “The Office” costar BJ Novak.

Speaking on “Good Morning America,” Kaling discussed starring in the award-winning series “The Office” and her latest addition to the Peacock catalog, which has garnered the series “a whole new generation of fans.”
The sitcom, which centers on workplace drama, debuted on NBC in 2005 and spanned nine seasons, peaking in 2013. In addition to Kaling, it stars other actors such as Steve Carell, Jenna Fischer, John Krasinki, Leslie David Baker and Rainn Wilson.
Although it has since turned into a cult classic, Kaling said that the show would be “very inappropriate” for this generation of viewers.
The “Sex Lives of College Girls” says, per HuffPost, “Tastes have changed, and honestly, what offends people has changed now. I think that’s actually one of the reasons the show is popular because people feel there’s something fearless or taboo that’s being said on the show.

Some of the things “The Mindy Project” stars saw were the use of racist and body-shaming anecdotes to make jokes during the show.
Although such a narrative is no longer an acceptable standard in filmmaking today, the series continues to gain traction as an audience favorite on Netflix and on the Peacock.
Perhaps, this prompted Kaling to share that her children, Katherine, 4, and Spencer, 2, might want to see the sitcom themselves when they’re teenagers, even if she doesn’t plan to introduce it to them.
He said, “Apparently a 15-year-old boy is the biggest fan of ‘The Office’ right now.”
“The Office” star Kaling became known as not only a versatile actress but also as a great screenwriter as she wrote several episodes of the show during its run.

As for what her “The Office” character Kelly Kapoor is up to today, Kaling says she’s stepping down from her role as a customer service representative to pursue a brighter career path.
The mother of two said, “I thought he was going to quit Dunder Mifflin to be an influencer, and then maybe get undone, almost immediately. In fact, most of the characters in the show will be canceled now.”
Kaling starred in the role from seasons one through eight and is a fan favorite. After her departure from the show at the end of the eighth season finale, the contestants showed her part with the narrative that Kelly had quit Dunder Mifflin to get married and move to Ohio.

About her dating life, not much is known other than her on-and-off relationship with her one-time co-star Novak. He recently told Drew Barrymore during an appearance on her eponymous show that he has no plans to get back with her.
“He’s a good friend, and he’s the godparent to both of my kids, and he loves kids, and they love him so much,” she told her host on Tuesday, per Many people.
She added, “He’s really part of our family, but we’ve known each other for a long time, and I think anyone who’s been friends with someone for 18, 19 years and dated at one point and now they’re not, they might understand this. You have an ex that you’re not necessarily going to marry right now.”
