The new boot design features spinning spurs on the rear, along with two Jibbitz charms – the golden Croc Star Jibbitz and the 2023 Cowboy Duke Jibbitz. Remember Crocs introduced shoes inspired by monsters inspired by the collaboration with Shrek.

Complete with the character’s distinctive nose, sticky ears and mottled green skin, each pair vividly brings the beloved character to life. Initially, the brand itself was founded by three Colorado friends: Scott Seamans, Lyndon ‘Duke’ Hanson, and George Boedecker.

It was noted that the discovery happened during a Caribbean sailing trip in the early 2000s when they came across boat shoes made from a foam-like material called Croslite.

Apparently, all three were impressed by the unique qualities of these shoes: light, shock-absorbing, easy to clean, comfortable, durable, slip-resistant, and even buoyant. Impressed, they acquired the rights to the Croslite technology and began creating what we now know as Crocs.

However, despite the seemingly luxurious design, the outlet reports that the American shoe giant’s release has sparked mixed feelings.

Controversy over the new Crocs reached a new peak on Facebook under an announcement on CNN’s official page that read, “On Thursday, Crocs revealed something previously unimaginable. Crocs cowboy boots, with spurs and stuff.”

Critics didn’t hold back from airing their opinions like this Facebook user who bluntly called the design a “crime against humanity.” They went on to add, “I’m a Texas man, and I take umbrage.”

The second person emphatically stated that they would “hold on to my cowboy boots,” before thinking, “I’m just thinking hot and sweaty and feeling slimy and no one in their right mind would buy this if you work on a farm!!! !”

This particular critic was totally shocked by the creation and couldn’t help but exclaim, “Wow!!!!!! Crocs are absolutely horrible! Don’t,” while the fourth is very confident that, “Nobody gets this ??.”

Meanwhile, this user dramatically called it “The end of humanity as we know it ?,” and a sixth simply wrote, “No, just no.”

Since Facebook is one of many social media platforms, it is expected that on another popular networking site X, the tide is turning positive for Crocs.

For example this supporter who write“Lowkey wants a cowboy hat and Croc boots so bad,” while another mentioned that they were “thinking about Croc rn cowboy boots.”

One fan was clearly excited suggested that since it is the month of Halloween, it is also “Croc-tober!” The fourth user is from opinion that “@Crocs the amount of love and effort I’ve given you over the years, I think I deserve a pair of crocodile cowboy boots. ?.”
