Olly Murs, who appreciates the importance of mental health therapy, has expressed his admiration for Simon Cowell for openly admitting his mental health problems.
Fans will remember when Cowell recently opened up about his mental health journey, stressing the “hugely positive” impact of therapy, which he wishes he had sought out earlier in his life.
Murs believes such revelations from the “X Factor” creator, who inspired many people around the world, including himself, will encourage fellow men to follow in his footsteps by openly discussing their mental health problems.

“I think therapy is very important for everyone. I don’t think it’s something you should avoid,” he said according to the Mirror.
“We’re constantly unearthing and unlocking new things about ourselves,” Murs continued. ‘And trying to understand why I acted this way or why I said this or why I felt this way.”
He feels that the more people know themselves, the better off they are, adding that “talking to strangers” often helps. Speaking about her experience, the “Please Don’t Leave Me” singer revealed that she sought therapy a few years ago before appearing on “The Voice,” and that it was an “amazing” experience.
He then dished on Cowell’s journey, saying, “It’s great that someone like Simon is talking about it because he’s someone that people look up to as a god. Well, for me anyway.” Murs went on to point out everything the 63-year-old has achieved in his career before calling him a “strong, powerful man” whose honesty about mental health will be a source of inspiration for the male population.
He stated, “For someone like him to talk about it will only help other men, and if that can help one or hundreds of men to talk more, then that’s great.” During the first episode of The Mirror’s “Men In Mind” podcast, Cowell talked about getting therapy, admitting that the COVID-19 era triggered his decision.
The British TV personality, who regrets not trying the process decades ago, admits that she used to attribute her depressive episodes to her “character traits” over the years. However, she eventually realized the importance of therapy, saying, “I wish I had done this 10 or 20 years ago … it’s like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders.”
Cowell was relieved by the therapy’s “super positive effect” on his life, and with that, he made moves to reexamine his priorities, including curbing his unhealthy habit of obsessing over TV ratings.

The “Britain’s Got Talent” creator also spoke about his anxiety during the outbreak, recalling his fear of contracting COVID-19 after witnessing friends’ experiences with the virus. He was worried that if he contracted the virus, his son Eric and fiancee Lauren Silverman would also be affected.
Despite his concerns, he ended up with a relatively mild case of COVID-19, prompting him to reassess his mental health and work to improve it.
Cowell was able to reflect on things in a way he hadn’t before the outbreak, and as things returned to normal, he delved deeper into mental health, receiving suggestions from friends who appreciated therapy.
In addition, she recognizes her need for change and compares her mental health journey to her “head going to the gym.”

The couple hosted 60 guests, including their family and celebrity friends, for the ceremony, while another 100 joined them for a celebratory party, dubbed Murs Fest, the following day.
According to an insider, the 39-year-old music star and his bride “had a food truck from McDonald’s serving all the classics, including McNuggets” during the ceremony.
They also had Craig David perform a DJ set for their guests while Murs reportedly took to the stage for several songs, including The Clash’s “Should I Stay Or Should I Go,” despite promising Tank he wouldn’t perform.
