Witherspoon is the cover star for the August 2023 US issue Harper’s Bazaar magazine. During the interview, she reflected on her famous sex scene with actor Mark Wahlberg in “Fear,” a 1996 thriller.
At the time, Witherspoon was 19 years old and remembers the experience not being good for her. The actress explained that she had “no control” over the explicit scenes, most of which were her character having an orgasm while riding a rollercoaster.
He said, per Daily Mail, “I didn’t say explicitly in the script that that was going to happen, so that was something that I think the director thought of himself and then asked me on set if I would do it, and I said no. It was not a very great experience.”
The Oscar-winning actress also shared that she insisted on doing stunt doubles for all scenes depicting nudity below the waist. “Fear” was directed by James Foley and primarily follows a 16-year-old girl (played by Witherspoon) who falls hopelessly in love with a 23-year-old sociopath.
