Karen Huger is facing DUI and DWI charges after a vehicle accident in Maryland.
The “Real Housewives of Potomac” star was cited with several traffic violations related to the collision and was mandated to appear in court to address these charges.

Court records available online reveal that Huger was pulled over by the Montgomery County Police Department in Maryland while driving his 2017 Maserati on Tuesday night.
He faces official charges of operating a vehicle while impaired by alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol, with a mandatory court appearance scheduled.
The reality television star also faces traffic-related charges that include charges of careless and reckless driving, excessive speeding, and operating a vehicle with a suspended registration.
The “Real Housewives of the Potomac” star received citations for six traffic violations, which do not require a court appearance but are subject to fines that vary between $50 and $510.
Law enforcement officials previously revealed that Huger ran over the median and crosswalk sign at the intersection and then crashed into an off-street parking sign.

Huger himself addressed the collision in a statement to TMZwhere she shared that after an emotional dinner with a friend, where they discussed a sensitive topic, she found herself in tears on the drive home.
The 60-year-old collided with another vehicle and narrowly missed it, causing him to skid, hit a road divider and a tree. Although the Virginia native suffered several bruises, he expressed relief at being alive.
In his message to fans, he further expressed his surprise that the other car involved did not stop and emphasized the importance of knowing one’s emotional state before driving.
Huger ended his statement by expressing gratitude to his “Guardian Angels,” his late mother, and his seat belt for saving his life.

Years before her accident, Huger took to social media to criticize her co-star, Gizelle Bryant, for accusing her of color. In case you missed it, Bryant claimed that Huger didn’t warm to newcomer Wendy Osefo on the show because he thought Osefo “wasn’t pretty enough.”
Bryant also implied that Huger implied that Osefo, referred to as “Mrs. Four Degrees,” is too dark to be on a Bravo series. Huger finally got a chance to answer the allegations during an episode of “Bravo Chat Room” in December 2020.
When he was tagged and questioned about the alleged conversations between hosts Bryant, Porsha Williams, Hannah Berner, and Kate Chastain, and whether there was any truth to Osefo’s claims that he was not welcome, Huger said:
“I did, and I replied. It read as follows. ‘Hi Wendy I was shocked and horrified to hear Gizelle in the chat room tonight; make a bold face and say I made a disparaging comment about your looks/appearance.'”
The mother of two went on to say, “I think you’re a beautiful woman and I warned you that Gizelle lied to you at the lake house about what I said earlier with the confusing comments. If her lies hurt you this evening, you should know that Gizelle will hurt anyone else to contact me. Gizelle has done this before. Sorry, he made you the subject of a grudge.”

Another housewife who got attention for reckless driving is Shannon Beador, who was arrested for drunk driving in September 2023.
According to The Blast, he drove his car into a residential property in Newport Beach on Saturday around 1 a.m. PT, reportedly “clipping” the house.
Then in November, we obtained court documents showing that “The Real Housewives of Orange County” star pleaded no contest to two of the three charges she originally faced.
Charges include, one for driving under the influence (DUI), another for Hit and Run [dismissed]and a third for driving with a blood alcohol content of .08% or more.
Thanks to her pleading no contest to driving with a blood alcohol content of .08% or more and driving under the influence of alcohol, Beador received three years of probation. He was also ordered to complete 40 hours of community service, pay a $390 fine, and participate in a First Offender Alcohol program for nine months.

Meanwhile, “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Cynthia Bailey’s ex-boyfriend Peter Thomas gained notoriety for his mugshot following a DUI arrest in January.
As reported by The Blast, the reality star was arrested by authorities in Cobb County, Georgia for driving under the influence.
Other charges against him include, driving without a license, failure to maintain lane, failure to provide proof of insurance, expired/no tag and traffic control device violation.
The barrage of accusations against him hasn’t stopped him from using his mugshot as a paparazzi photo opportunity. His signature dyed beard and rugged charm were on full display as he stared straight into the authorities’ cameras.
