Instead, King Charles and Queen Camilla chose to use their coronation photos for their Christmas cards.

The Prince and Princess of Wales released their family’s official 2023 Christmas card to an onslaught of criticism from eagle-eyed fans. The photo quickly went viral on social media, especially X (formerly known as Twitter), with many noting that it was a major photoshop fail on Prince Louis, the couple’s youngest son.
Fans noticed Louis was missing the middle finger on his right hand, which was placed on his sister Princess Charlotte’s chair. Only the 5-year-old’s index, ring and pinky fingers are visible in the photo, though it’s unclear whether she hid the fingers or whether it was a genuine Photoshop accident.

One fan’s tweet at the photo read, “Prince Louis’s toe is missing, also they took a photo of someone else’s foot on it. I certainly hope the taxpayers don’t pay for it.” Another wrote, “Louis lost a finger; this has got to be the worst Photoshop picture ever.”
A third comment read, “Even though it’s a nice family photo, as soon as I looked at it, I noticed Louis’ hands. He lost a finger. That made me take a closer look. His right leg looks swollen. Where are William’s thighs? Where is Kate’s other leg?”
Another tweeted, “Are Prince William’s kids real or are they fake? Why doesn’t Louis have fingers and look at Louis’ feet? No two legs look alike.”
Prince William And His Family Always Look Amazing In Their Christmas Cards
Despite the focus on Photoshop elements, there was plenty of praise for family photos and looks.
All five members of the William family were dressed alike in white button-down shirts. William and Kate wore jeans, the boys wore chino shorts, and Princess Charlotte wore a denim playsuit with strawberries on it.
The previous family card from the Prince and Princess of Wales was also pretty and relaxed, just like the 2023 card, but it was more colourful. Their 2018 card features the beautiful royal family sitting on a tree trunk and smiling brightly at Anmer Hall, Norfolk.
The King And Queen Also Issued Their Festive Cards
King Charles and Queen Camilla have also released their official festive cards and selected their coronation photo as the image. The card will be sent to selected friends, family, colleagues and acquaintances of the Royal family.
Coronation photos show the King and Queen in the Palace throne room shortly after his coronation ceremony in May. It was shot by Hugo Bernard and featured the couple in full Royal attire standing side by side. Charles wears the Imperial State crown while Camilla wears Queen Mary’s Crown.
The card is the second Christmas card since Charles’ accession late last year, following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II. The first card featured a photo of him (when he was still Prince of Wales) and Camilla at Scotland’s Braemar Games on September 3, five days before the late Queen’s passing.
Now There’s a Royal Family Controversy

The release of the Christmas card comes amid renewed controversy over Omid Scobie’s memoir about the Royal Family. The “Endgame” book misprint claims that Princess Kate Middleton was one of the royals who commented on the possible skin color of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s first child, Prince Archie.
The book also named King Charles as another senior Royal who made “racist” comments about the unborn child. No one in the Royal family has spoken publicly about his memoirs and claims. However, a source told Telegraph that Charles planned to meet William to discuss the allegations and how they would be handled.

They also claim that legal action is likely to be brought against Scobie and possibly Harry and Meghan. The insider said, “Discussions are underway, and we will continue those discussions this week. Conversations will be had, and decisions made with care and time and professionalism rather than being rushed over the weekend.”
Instead, Harry and Meghan appear to have distanced themselves from Scobie’s book and have not commented on the bombshell claims in the memoir. Scoobie has also insisted that he did not get any information from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
