Love for Ryan O’Neal radiated through Hollywood’s DGA Theater Complex this Saturday as former co-stars, friends and family paid tribute to the late veteran actor.

Some of Hollywood’s A-list actors and veterans turned up in their best ensembles to mark the end of the legendary entertainer.

The list includes one of the biggest teen idols from the ’90s, Alicia Silverstone, who worked with O’Neal more than two decades ago. The “Clueless” actor reminisced about their time together on set, describing the younger actor as a sassy troublemaker. In his words:

“Well, O’Neal and I did a show called Miss Match when I was about 25, and she was so beautiful, and she was so naughty, you know? We had to tell him to behave himself sometimes because he was so sweet and funny and all, you know.

Silverstone also praised her former co-star’s acting skills as “amazing,” noting she was always impressed by “how beautifully she executed” her scenes. Jacqueline Bisset shared similar sentiments when discussing her 1973 collaboration with O’Neal.

“I did a movie called ‘The Thief Who Came to Dinner,’ where he played a thief. He was a mischievous thief, and I was a certain woman who was ahead of him, and it was quite fun,” recalls the 79-year-old before reflecting on how the loss has affected the industry, lamenting:

“Everybody, like all the top staff, our directors, they’re all gone. We’re all running low, which is all pretty hard to deal with. And I think I don’t know who’s going to be there for O’Neal, but I want to be here.”

Bisset fondly remembers his old friend as a fun person with lots of energy, claiming he enjoyed success and loved his legions of fans. O’Neal is not only adored by his actresses, as famous actor Eric Roberts has high praise for the deceased.

The brother of actress Julia Roberts raved about O’Neal’s uniqueness, declaring, “There’s no one like her, and she went from beautiful and delicate to being cool and smart, you know?” He praised the late actor’s versatility, saying he positively changed people’s lives with the words:

“He impacts people’s lives in a positive way, and he owns his stuff. He’s really honest about himself personally, which ends up being really good for this family, you know, there’s goodness there.”

In addition to the late entertainer’s colleagues, his daughter, Tatum O’Neal, also spoke ET about the celebration of his father’s life service. “It’s a beautiful, beautiful thing. I sure love my dad. I actually cried this morning, which is rare, you know,” he confessed, adding:

“I’ve actually stopped crying my whole life, and I cried this morning really hard. It was beautiful. I love my dad, always.”

Last December, the late actor’s son, Patrick O’Neal, announced his plans to host a celebration of life memorial service with a stern warning to fans. The 56-year-old, who was the first to confirm Ryan’s death, appeared to use his statement to refute his brother’s claims about their father.

“I’m in the process of planning a memorial and celebration of my dad’s life for the end of January, and everyone who’s supposed to be there will be there, and it’s going to be amazing, trust me. This will be a tribute to the man, his family, his love of boxing, and his legendary career as an actor,” Patrick’s message read.

If fans missed Patrick’s subtle speech about “everyone who should be there will be there” at Ryan’s 2024 celebration of life, he ended the Instagram post with a warning that read: “1. Don’t believe everything you read. 2. Consider the source . C. myob.”

The 56-year-old’s post comes on the back of his brother Griffin O’Neal’s claims about their father’s funeral. The late entertainer’s first son, his sister, Tatum, and younger brother, Redmond, were absent from their father’s funeral in LA.

Patrick was the only one of Ryan’s four children to attend the funeral, which Griffin claims happened because he was excluded from the ceremony.

“I was not even invited to send him away. I’m the hated child who speaks the truth. Dark times in this family. Love means never apologizing — and Ryan never did that to anyone,” Griffin claimed.
